About this house rental

Summary:

Three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and room for six, in a period cottage a minute's walk from Emsworth's harbour. Upstairs there's a super king with its own walk-in shower, a double in a brass bed and a twin room whose singles zip into a second super king, so everyone can sleep the way they like. Downstairs, a living room, a separate dining room for six and a full kitchen sit alongside a walled courtyard garden. Dogs are welcome, and the station is about ten minutes on foot.

The Space:

Sleeping

All three bedrooms are on the first floor.

Bedroom 1: UK super king zip-and-link bed (180 cm wide, close to a US king), which can also be made up as two single beds. En-suite walk-in shower. Overlooks the courtyard.

Bedroom 2: UK double bed (135 cm, close to a US full) in a brass frame.

Bedroom 3: two single beds (similar to US twins) that zip into a second super king on request. Faces the street.

Fresh hotel-quality linen and towels are ready for everyone.

Bathrooms

The en-suite shower room in Bedroom 1, a family bathroom with a bath and a shower over it, and a separate WC downstairs, so a full house rarely waits.

Kitchen and dining

A separate kitchen with a Belfast sink, double oven, hob, built-in microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine and a breakfast bar with stools. The dining room seats all six at a solid wooden table.

Living room

Sofas, armchairs and a Smart TV for your own streaming apps, with wooden floors and period features throughout the cottage.

Outside

A walled, enclosed courtyard garden with a table and chairs.

Everyday practicals

Wi-Fi, a dining table that doubles as a desk, a new Bosch washer-dryer, heating, an iron, a hair dryer, and starter tea, coffee and toiletries.

Travelling with children

Children and babies are welcome, and there's a travel cot. All the bedrooms are upstairs.

Bringing your dog

Up to three dogs are welcome, and a pet fee applies. The walled courtyard keeps them safe outside.

Good to know

The cottage has no parking of its own; the nearby options are under Guest Access.

Guest Access:

The whole cottage and courtyard are yours. Self check-in by lockbox from 4 pm to 9 pm; check-out by 10 am. Parking is on-street nearby (45-minute and 2-hour bays, plus eight free spaces on Frankland Terrace and Lumley Road) or in the South Street pay-and-display car park.

The Neighborhood:

From the front door it takes about a minute to reach Dolphin Quay, where children go crabbing from the harbour wall, with the two tidal millponds alongside and the town's cafés, pubs and small shops all around. Brook Meadow nature reserve and Emsworth Museum are a few minutes' walk, and the shoreline path makes a good dog walk. A short drive away: Hayling Island and West Wittering beaches, Bosham, Staunton Country Park with its farm and play areas, Stansted Park, Chichester, and Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.

Getting Around:

Emsworth railway station is about ten minutes on foot, with direct trains to Portsmouth, Chichester and Brighton. For drivers, the A27 coast road is close to the town.
