This was an incredible property! Amazing security staff and property management, location was perfect for our group! I stayed after carnival and it was the perfect cool down. Pool was beautiful. Early mornings were probably the best time of day, opened up the entire house with a cool breeze throughout! The reviews about the hills are true they are pretty steep, we had NO issues driving up daily though. Went down to the arnos vale beach and we were literally the only ones there. All round great trip!

The view from Kapinjala is majestic. Beautiful greenery and mountainous regions are visible well into the distance. The beach is also in view. The bedrooms are sufficiently appointed, but we would have appreciated a place to eat indoors. There was no indoor dining table or chairs to eat at the kitchen bar. If you like A/C, the heat in the main living areas will become unbearable at times (even with the doors ajar and all fans on). And if you are a group of 5 or more, you will not be able to find drivers with vehicles large enough and with enough horsepower to make the ascent. For all trips to and from the villa, you will have to order 2 cars/SUVs or have a minibus posted at the bottom gate, using a sedan or SUV to shuttle your party between the gate and villa. Of serious concern, we were unable to reach property management (PM) when we returned one night and the gate was not opening. We attempted to call PM 18 times and left at least 16 voice messages and received no reply that evening. Because my oldest had not joined the outing, we were able to call him to have him alert the security guard of our predicament. The guard did not, however, know how to activate the manual override and was also unable to reach PM. He did, however, reach Dennis, the groundskeeper, who provided some guidance. As per Dennis' suggestions and the acuity of our family friend who was returning us to the villa, we were able to get one half of the gate open. Our friend then risked scratching his car by maneuvering his vehicle through the now narrowed opening. With my husband having an early flight the next morning, and no taxi service similarly willing to risk damage to their vehicle, my husband, with the assistance of my sons, had to make the trek down to the bottom gate by foot (~250m with my oldest carrying luggage of nearly 50 pounds on his head). I am sick with the thought of what would have happened if anyone in my family would have required medical attention during this period. PM reached us later that morning, indicating that she went to bed early and had left her phone charging outside of her bedroom. Unacceptable. She was able to coordinate a service call from a provider who could open the gate in full by midday but that then meant that the security protections for which we were paying were not now in full effect. The housekeeper, Deneesia, was however highly responsive to our distress calls and likely the reason we received initial return phone call from PM.

The pool is absolutely beautiful.. infinity pool on a hill that overlooks the ocean, it’s really spectacular and Much larger than I even thought based off the pictures, one half of the pool is deep maybe 12 feet and the other half is 4 feet I loved it and the jets in the jacuzzi work well. They come to clean the pool often. We stayed here in the humid month of August and unfortunately could not go outside at night at all on the balconies or pool because there were so many mosquitoes but in the day time it was totally fine. This villa is in a gorgeous setting and it’s truly beautiful with spectacular views from every balcony but it is alittle old and a good 20 minute drive from the nice beaches. I rented an SUV which I recommend over a regular car because at one point we did drive back in the pouring rain and the hill you have drive up to get to the villa gates is alittle steep. The security guard is so kind and friendly, he comes every night 6pm-12am. On the first evening I made the mistake of leaving the big doors that open to the pool open for alittle while cooking diner and I suddenly realized I allowed in hundreds of mosquitos. So the layout of the house is gorgeous but at least in the summer you can’t really leave the doors open meaning it will be hot in the living room and kitchen due to no AC and not being able to open up the windows/doors cause of bugs. The bedroom ACs worked well though and we kept the bedroom doors closed so that bugs wouldn’t make their way in there but at night i would still find 1-3 mosquitoes. So we didn’t even use the big beautiful balconies on the top floors, every door has sliding metal gates inside with keys, I’m used to using these types of doors with sliding locks but some people might be bothered with opening/re-locking them. But I’m still happy I chose to stay at this villa in Tobago because it’s so unique and secluded in a way that is so peaceful all you can hear is birds, beautiful plants all around you and and from the back of the house the views really can’t be beat. But besides the pool area the inside it’s not super luxurious, The bathrooms are nice but the towels leave lint on you and the water pressure was alittle low in showers and they were basic along with the furniture.. maybe they should put mosquito nets over the bed I would have slept better honestly. The living room is nice and kitchen pots were OK washer dryer dishwasher all worked. I enjoyed staying at this villa because it was an adventure

We have stayed at this villa 3 times now. The view and pool are amazing and the coveted patio is such a nice place to relax rain or shine. We’ve always had excellent communication and service with the staff.

We had a wonderful 6 days in the house. Kids and adults really enjoyed the swimming pool, probably the best that we have done in Tobago . The house has everything and is clean. The outdoor entertainment area is perfect and we would come back anytime . Thank you for the stay Fabien and sally
