Doubletree By Hilton West Kelowna

It's a beautiful new hotel. The fellow at the front desk (may have been a manager or supervisor - as he appeared to be training someone) however, was less than friendly. I stayed for two two nights and could not sleep the first night bx there was a down duvet despite being 26 degrees out. I had the AC on but on high keeps me awake so the low setting was all I could tolerate. The next day I asked if the hotel had a lighter summer blanket I could use, to which he replied - that it would just be the same as the duvet. (An odd answer as I was under the impression down duvets were considered by the world as warm). He sent one up but it was exactly the same. When I arrived back, it was at my door but my card key wouldn't work. I carried it back down. (And slept another night overly warm). Then I asked if there was anywhere I could fill my water bottle and he said by the pool. I went looking for it and found the water almost warm enough to make tea. (With no option for cool water). I assumed the machine must be on a wrong setting. On the way out, I politely let him know and he sounded annoyed telling me, "that's normal. If you want room temperature water, go to the bar.' I actually would have loved cool water...but that's ok. Lol. So off I went to get ice instead. I walked three floors looking for an ice machine (I dared not ask him!) The only machine is on the 4th floor. I felt like an annoyance at this hotel in every interaction with him. And, I promise you - I was polite and sweet as pie each time. Heck, I was afraid to approach him. He on the other hand, might not be suited for front desk interaction with guests.

The staff. The male at the front desk was quite unpleasant with me.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and wonderful location!

Lovely new property and big rooms

Took awhile to check in due to an admin error with Booking.com which meant we were delayed by 1 hour

It was new.

We were travelling with our dog and the room we were given on the 1st floor was dark and overlooked the garbage bins of an adjoining property. For a new room it was painted in shades of brown which looked old fashioned, not modern and crisp. The pool was closed for maintenance.
