Westminster is a great base for travel to some of the closer mountain towns and Rocky Mountain National Park. Nice water/coffee on arrival. Staff are generally friendly and polite.

Upon arrival there were two police officers in the lobby (which is understandably inevitable if there has been an issue and I do not detract from the hotel’s rating for this at all). My issue lies with a staff member quite literally running back and forth to the desk after assisting the police, and the general manager doing nothing. The running around the lobby and then still engaging in unnecessary chitchat (beyond polite conversation) seemed to me unprofessional and meant that check-in took longer than necessary. An AI video of a talking cookie on a TV screen greeted us in the lobby (huge down points, especially for a big chain hotel). The room was extremely run down, with cracks in the lampshades, worn down doors and bathrooms. Hairdryer was broken. Received a functioning one upon request relatively quickly.
