We liked the cultural experiences at the guest house: display of art, quotes of different authors, and poems of Rumi. The owner Jalal gave us insightful information on places to visit on the Cabot Trail.
We were not quite sure of the house rules, specifically using the kitchen for preparing our meals.

Jalalaldin was an excellent host. His first name is the same as the great poet Jalal Al Rumi! Hence the name. We had the unfortunate luck of having the the electricity cutoff which apparently does not happen often and our host promptly provided a lighter to use the candles in the room and provided 4L of fresh water! Electricity was restored in an hour or so and seemed to be an area wide issue. The location is beautiful with a pond that you can swim in nearby and is close to Ingonish with a great coffee shop and bakery nearby called the Clucking Hen!
Being near the pond there are plenty of mosquitos, bring bug spray

The get-up is nice. Kitchen is nice
I booked a superior queen bedroom for my two kids. It turned out to be a room in the attic with no air conditioning . This was no where mentioned in booking .com or in their website to be a room in the attic. Because it was so hot my children ended up sleeping in our room which had a king bed and a sofa. I booked for 3 nights out of which 2 nights they slept with us and on the last night they gave us another queen room with an ac
