Great Stay, Clean Cozy Cottage

Great stay. clean cozy cottage. Very quiet place. Near everything in Cavendish and North Rustico. Friendly manager. Would recommend, hope to return next year.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. We had no issues with anything, everything was fine.

Wonderful stay, very nice cottage, great host

We had a very nice cottage, very clean, new furniture and floors. Cottage had a deck with bbq, flat screen tv, dishwasher, fridge, stove. Beds were very comfy, nice bathroom. Very quiet place to stay. Very friendly host. I like that they have a rule that they don't allow the smoking of Cannabis on the property because I can't stand the smell of it. I am not a fish person so I also like the rule the you can't cook any fresh fish in the cottage. Quiet time is 10pm and they don't allow kids to running around the property after quiet time so that is also a bonus. In the middle of 4 Cavendish Golf Courses and only 5-10 mins to the center of Cavendish. Lots of restaurants nearby and shopping. Charlottetown is just a 1/2 hour drive away and about the same or little more to drive to Summerside. Very close to Anne of Green Gables House and the children's theme parks (Shining Waters and Sandspit), about 5-8 mins away. I really like the nice open property with great views of the country side. While we did not go to the beach it is only 5-10 mins away as well. I would recommend this property to anyone who is quiet but not to anyone who wants to come and party. We will refer this property to our family and friends and plan to return again.

Very comfortable stay, very clean, very quiet, friendly staff

I really like the quietness of the property, super quiet by 10pm and that they don't allow people to smoke cannabis on the property - I hate the smell and find it offensive. The cottage was super clean, housekeeping do a great job. We had a very nice cottage, very spacious, kept up to date. The cottage was much nicer in real than the pictures online show. They need to get a profession photographer in to take good pictures cause it can show so much better than the pictures they have here. the cottage had A/C, Wifi and a dishwasher which was great (no dishes to do by hand). We had our deck (good size) with BBQ and Patio Table/chairs and we could see our children in the playground from the deck. They have a nice playground for the kids and a heated pool They have a policy to follow which is just common sense things, nothing to be put off about like the previous review. Not sure why she found it to be such a problem or off putting. I didn't see anything wrong with it. No smoking inside or you'll pay a $500 fee and same with bringing pets into the cottage. Quiet time is 10pm and children are not to be outside roaming around the property or in the playground after 10pm during quiet time. Seriously what is wrong with that? I just don't get the issue the previous review made. Normally I don't leave reviews for things/places etc, but after the nasty review left on here I felt I should write my own review. I would recommend these cottages and will stay again. I found both the housekeeping staff and the manager very nice and friendly. In fact, the manager goes over the policy with you when you check in. I had no issue with the way they have explained the sorting of the garbage/compost/recyclables - it was clearly stated. Again I don't know what the issue was with the previous review (maybe she was having a bad day or something) but I think it was a very unfair review to write about this property.

I didn't like that the weather had turned cooler but that was not something the property could do anything about. I would have liked to have stayed longer but they didn't have any availability (guess we should have planned better).

Nice place for a short stay has everything you need for a good rest and cooking own meals.

Very Clean tidy and spacious and close to cavendish. Nice pillows. Comfy couch. Dishwasher was a plus. Pool was nice. Full kitchen was useful as we cooked a couple meals there. Comfortable beds. Housekeeping staff are doing a great job.

Clock on wall needs a battery. The weird smell from the odour eaters on top of cabinets was way too overwhelming, we had to put them outside and they are counterproductive to what it is trying to solve. Too many rules to absorb, not written well, stated in a very rude tone. (E.g., my kids can’t leave the cabin after dusk… really?) And all the charges if you don’t follow the rules. I get it that some guests may need those. But honestly, the tone of the communication needs help, as it is a deterrent for us to stay there again. Makes us feel like if we’re not perfect rule followers , then it’s gonna cost us. Get a communications person to help draft the rules and maybe ease up a little on all the subtle requirements. Bringing your own towel to use the pool was not clear. How about offering pool towels? There was only one garbage can for garbage but there were rules about sorting. what about the recyclables? Compost? How about a can for each? It was unclear what was expected so I took the recyclables and refundables home with me. Recycling Programs are different all over so be explicit on what is expected for PEI, and provide proper sorting bins. The fridge door was hard to shut as it’s placed too close to wall.

Exceptional

Really enjoyed our stay at Mayfield Country Cottages. Cottage looked fairly new with new flooring, furniture etc. The cottage is nicely spaced out with a great living area. We had a dishwasher in the kitchen, Air Condition and Wifi. I must say our cottage was super clean, quite impressed with how clean it was. The location is great just 5-7 mins to the Cavendish attractions. There are 4 golf courses nearby within 10 mins. I would highly recommend a stay at this location if you want a super clean cottage to stay in and a very quiet place to stay at night. No noise at all by 10pm, which I liked. Host was great and super friendly.

There was nothing I didn't like, had no issues at all and very satisfied with my choice of place stay. This was my first stay at Mayfield Country Cottages but I will return.

Great Stay, we'll be back

Super Clean, modern cottage with a cozy feel. Everything was spotless. Only 5 mins to the heart of Cavendish. Various dining facilities, shopping, grocery store and family attractions all with 5-10 mins of the cottages. Very quiet location. Cottage had everything we needed with a good kitchen, flat screen TV with Satellite Service (tons of channels even sports and french channels). Bed was comfy, nice and firm but with a plush topper. Was great for my back with the firmness but the toppers took away the pain in my hip and shoulder. Had air conditioning and WiFi (which worked well). the cottage has it's own deck to sit out on and relax, also a patio table set and we had are own bbq on the deck. Has a heated pool up to Labour Day. Host (Lorraine) was absolutely wonderful, very friendly and greets you with a smile. We will book again at Mayfield Country Cottages and will recommend to our family and friends.

there wasn't anything we didn't like about the cottage. Everything met our expectations.

Beautiful cottage, very clean, friendly host

host is very nice and friendly. super clean cottage, I was very impressed. Very nicely laid out and comfy. We have a comfy bed. We will stay at this property again.

Excellent family vacation!

I highly recommend these cottages! Mayfield is easy to get to from Confederation Bridge, and it is close to all the attractions in that part of PEI. It was easy to go back and forth from the theme parks to our cottage. Beautiful PEI sunset to view from Cavendish Provincial Park in the evening, 7-8 minute drive away. You can bring your own food to cook at the cottage as there is a stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, dishes and utensils. I would recommend this as I found it hard to find a place to eat in Cavendish. Very clean and tidy cottage with air conditioning, excellent host.

Quiet, cozy, clean cottage. A comfortable place to relax, close to the beach and amenities.

All our needs were met. The cottage was well appointed and well located. It was quiet and the neighbours were friendly and neat. The space was well allocated- good sized living area and good sized bedrooms. Good water pressure and clean.

The cottage was what I expected. There was nothing that bothered me about this place. The owner was friendly and helpful, and organized.
