The location and the fact that it was historical
There were some issues with the AC on Friday night stay but on the plus side, the property took care of it and helped us out with our room payment

You can't beat the location of the Inn. on an Island in the Mississippi River. We were there over the 4th of July and were perfectly situated to walk to the tip of the island to watch the fireworks. It's also walkable to paths along the river, restaurants and cafes for outdoor dining, and towards the downtown on the other side for even more dining and entertainment options. Minneapolis is a sprawling city, so you'll need a car or Uber to get to some restaurants and neighborhoods. The breakfast offering is simple continental (nothing hot but instant oatmeal and coffee) but it's enough to start your day.
Our room was pretty cold and the thermostat wasn't even digital so it's hard to regulate the temperature. Would also be nice if the lobby were better furnished and more inviting to relax outside of your own room.

Somewhat unique because of the age.
The breakfast that was supposed to come with it didn't. Instead there was a lackadaisical "Continental breakfast" In the hallway on each floor. Pretty lame, especially for the price of the hotel. They have a restaurant but they only do brunch on Saturday and Sunday. We were there on a Thursday. Dining facility was not open. You could get food in the bar. We've been in many historic places for half the price and twice the amenities. It's unfortunate as I was looking forward to this island visit. The room promised a Riverview and a garden view which was also disappointing. The Riverview was okay as you looked at it straight on, as there were obstructions left and right. We never did see the garden, and we looked. So a bit of misrepresentation. This is not a $250. a night room!!
