The Anchorage in Rochester is a good deal. The rooms are clean, the staff is lovely. The garden/pool/sitting areas are really nice..until the guest who wanted to drink and smoke. But do check out the grounds there, It's a nice set up.
I had 101 this time and the guy next door kept smoking in a chair RIGHT outside my door...there is a gap between the door and threshold so my 'non-smoking room was not so nonsmoking. I have asthma so that is a problem. Also...the bath...only the shower would work, couldn't turn it off to take a bath. But otherwise...everything was good. And...I get that the FD gentleman was trying to 'upgrade' me but I told him once that no, I didn't want to be moved to a different hotel...he asked three more times. Neither hotel was in Rochester and while they 'may' have been an upgrade, they did not have what I choose the Anchorage Inn for. So ask once. If they say no, don't keep asking.

Upgraded us to a holiday inn express for not answering the phone on the first ring.

I love the room cause it had a microwave and refrigerator. Beds was comfortable.
My bath tub wasn't cleaned. And curtains about to fall off and the towels and wash cloths had stains when we could get them. The housekeeper wasn't polite at all and didn't bring us stuff when we needed it.
