パティオも広く、外でのんびりご飯が食べられたので、プライベートも確保しやすかったです。
チェックインの際に指定されたベッドが「A」でしたが、部屋のベッドには数字番号しか見当たらず…ちょっと困りました。
それ以外は何も申し分なかったです。

Great place and the best hostel experience I ever had！The public areas all very clean and well organized, also everything looks brand new! There is a large place to relax in the lobby, also it was a nice outside patio where you have a rest during a nice sunny day! Also there is really convenient and modern kitchen area in the basement where you can cook your own meal during the day!

Good cafeteria inside the hostel. Close to public transport.
Unfortunately my opinion will be based on the fact that my stay was just after i stayed for a week in the HI Boston Hostel of the same chain. Unlike their partner there was no free coffee or breakfast. Employees were much ruder and non helpful (except the cleaning staff). I had to change my room after 3 days without previous notice (was informed on check-in). That meant that i had to repack my stuff, bring my bag to the reception, change keys, sign the form again and wait 04 hours between the room change (11am - 3pm - there was no room available for a direct change). Never had to deal with this before.
They charge 05 dollars to keep your bag in the hostel after check-out (also a first timer). The fact that NY is expensive and probably full all the time probably means they dont care too much about customer service (except if you are in a large group of teenagers as there were a TON).
If not for the name i would never guess that they are from the same chain of Boston. The difference is felt easily.

- Pods - pods with rolling doors allows for more privacy than bunk bends with curtains. they allow for full darkness which helps you sleep better after whole day of sightseeing. Additionally in the pod there is: a light and fan (both regulated, so you can dim them/adjust speed), mirror, 2 usb ports and other 2 regulators which I didn't explore. The sliding door in the pods don't lock (or at least I couldn't). Btw room has its own light with also has adjustable brightness.
- Bathroom - you have a small bathroom in room for 6, so it should be easier to keep it tidy but you also have the option of a common bathroom in the corridor. A towel is prepared on your bed.
- Location - right next to Central Park. Nice buildings around. Subway 2 blocks away (5min walk)
- People - more mature. Small groups of 5 but respectful. Others travelled in 1-3s. They were 27+
- Rooftop - you can go on a rooftop but it's for the building's square. No amazing views but can go for a smoke if you do and need one. There is no drinking/smoking on hotel premises.
- Bagel morning - off you wake up early enough you might catch a morning bagel with tea/coffee, some peanut butter, milk and cereal as a good start of the day. Yes, it's free.
- Blankets - you usually get just thin blanket and a bed sheet to match it. Can get cold, however I was fine. Not sure if you are cold though. Probably would have to go and ask the reception
- No elevator - if you travel with a heavy bag, be prepared to carry it up the stairs to the 2-4 floor
- Small lockers - lockers are best for document and other small things. Stuffing it with school bag might work but anything other than that won't fit. Buy a lock or bring one with you. Additionally, the room doesn't have that much space, so your case will be against the wall closed.
- No personnel 24/7 - out of 3 nights, twice i arrived just after midnight. There was nobody at the reception. Had to rely on others to open the door for me.

The hostel was at a walk-able distance from the Line 1 Subway, Easy to get in and out. Clean facilities and a huge kitchen facilities. The idea of breaking the ice and talk to other users. Planned activities, like the tour with Phil to Tribeca. Other similar activities were included. Convenient corner-shops on Amsterdam Av to get food. Big individual LOCKERS in the dormitory. Clean areas and bilingual staff.
Perhaps the insuficient number of MALE facilities in the 2nd floor compared to FEMALE and ALL GENDER. I think the 1st floor of the building might have had more additional male facilities.

Nice place to say. Bed was comfortable. There is kitchen in the hostel where you can prepare meal, tea etc. Staff is friendly and offered leaving bags before check-in time.

Lage war super, Unterhaltung war gut und die Menschen dort sehr nett.
Die Heizung war sehr laut - kann aber aus / an gestellt werden.
Die Räume sind schnell kalt geworden - Heizung funktioniert aber und man kann zusätzliche Decken ausleihen.

Clean, had everything you need. Friendly staff and great value for money for the location. Would highly recommend.
Could use toilets in the bedrooms so don’t need to get up at night and walk down the corridor.

The location is good as it is close to two metro stations, with easy access to downtown.
I didn't have to wait for a shower, I suppose I used it during non-peak hours. The bed and sheets were clean, and the bathroom as clean as it can get in a hostel with so many people. The check-in and check-out were easy.
Even though it was close to subway stations, the location was not that good in terms of restaurants and things to do.
The bed was not that comfortable but it was expected. The room is VERY smelly, smelling like cheese all the time, even with changing guests, I guess that is because the window doesn't open and the door is all day closed.
The very down point for me was the shower, very low water pressure and the hot water didn't really work, I heard from other guests that it got better when you open all the showers, which I did but the water just got warm-ish enough not to freeze.

The staff were friendly & helpful, the hostel is quite clean for one of such a big size and so busy! People in my room were quiet and respectful, and the facilities in the hostel are good. The location is great for easy access to multiple trains. Bathrooms were never too busy despite lots of people sharing them!
The hot water wasn't working in some of the women's washrooms, but there were other washrooms you could choose.

Fui obrigado a dividir a minha hospedagem em dois quartos diferentes, na segunda vez me alocaram em uma cama que já tinha gente (duas vezes consecutivas).
Elevador ficou alguns dias sem funcionar, logo, tive que subir de escada as malas.
Uma vez fui ao tomar banho, a água subiu pois o talo estava entupido.
Funcionários depende da sorte, ora encontrava um que amava o que fazia ora encontrava uns de mau humor.

This hostel is best deal for solo travellers going to NY. The place offers multiple services - there is beautiful cafe with delicious food, fully equipped kitchen, laundry machines, TV area and courtyard. They have created several events thoughout the week.
There was locker in the room, also bed has personal light, outlets and there is big locker (you can buy lock at the reception if needed, I used lock from my suitcase).
Staff is great, guys keep area clean the whole day. Shower cabs are spacious. In bathrooms there are hair dryers and paper towels. Elevator is for service if you have suitcase which is great.
Location is just amazing - in the heart of Manhattan and just a block away from Metro line.
As many people mentioned you need to put an effort to find shower with hot water. I was staying on the first floor and ladies bathroom in the middle had hot water, so hot shower warmed me up after cold NY weather in March.
Also many people are absolutely inconsiderate.
I am ignoring moment that some people speak over phone at night or don't clean after themselves in the kitchen.
On Saturday night there were drunk chats in the courtyard at 3 am, and it can be heard in all rooms facing courtyard. Nobody was stopping them but they were very loud. Seems like in summer when weather is comfortable for chilling there it will be just terrible noise.

Although it was crowded, the cleaning was very good. The location is actually not bad. You can reach almost anywhere by metro. metro stop is close. There are many options when it comes to food. The number of people in the rooms can be too many, 12 people. There was no loss of any items. everyone was respectful. It was lucky for me that the friends in the room were friendly.
The rooms are very crowded. For this reason it can be a little noisy. I did not receive a positive response about keeping my belongings at the reception for a day. It was said that it would disappear. no liability accepted. I was going to give away an alizim that I didn't use because it didn't fit in my closet and was taking up space in the room. It was rejected. Even though they registered it, they did not accept it in case the suitcase was lost. I don't find it right. However, they were very helpful at Boston Hi Hostel. I think the rules should be the same everywhere.

Achei o quarto razoavelmente confortável, e legal o fato de que oferecem um locker para colocar os pertences. Toalha, lençol e coberta também oferecem.
O chuveiro no meu andar não esquentava e foi muito difícil tomar banho no frio de NY. Além disso, paguei um preço excessivo para apenas uma noite - 126$. Acho que varia de acordo com a época, mas achei que não compensou.

Eu gostei muito das instalações no geral, a estrutura do hostel é incrível, eu conheci gente do mundo inteiro literalmente e amei fato de ter atividades e festas no próprio hostel!
Os chuveiros são um problema, grande parte dos chuveiros não tem água quente e isso é bem ruim, eu tive que tomar banho todos os dias em outros andares do prédio porque perto do meu quarto não tinha água quente, outro problema é que na cozinha roubam sua comida.

Sprawność zakwaterowania, dostępność do baru kawowo-śniadaniowo-kolacyjnego. Dostępność do kuchni, dużej ilości pryszniców, toalet. Wygodne łóżka oraz duże pokoje. Pomimo 10-osobowych pokoi nie czuło się ograniczonej przestrzeni. Na duży plus pralnia i suszarnia na terenie hostelu. W zasadzie mieszkając w HI New York City Hostel można było skupić się tylko na poznaniu miasta :)
Niektóre prysznice miały letnią wodę, co zimową porą było bardzo niekomfortowe

The bed frame in dorms moves when people walked by not just in the room but in the corridor too.
No big moves but suffisent to reduce quality sleep.
My dorms roommate dirty (pee + beer) the room and floor was not clean every day, smells a bit..
Advice hostel people about those but all rooms where full nothing was possible... Unfortunate
