We did not stay. Cancelled after waiting an hour in line at the receptionist desk.

Nothing we ended up canceling our reservation beacause they didn't have enough cleaning staff so the rooms were not ready and it eas already 7pm . I had called twice before we arrive and the person at the desk led me to believe our romms would be ready by 330. Will never stay at this hotel ever!

Being honest about the issue of romms not being ready and give us a chance to make other arrangements.

Disappointed

The lady who checked us in asked if I was a Hilton Honors member, she gave us a discount

I was then charged OVER what I was quoted on booking.com. I called the hotel and they wouldn’t do anything about it. I likely won’t use booking.com in the future. Nor will I return to this hotel

The location of the hotel is good.

The hotel needs some renovations done. It's not the way it used to be. The breakfast is poor.

The staff tried to be helpful, but we chose this hotel for the outdoor pool which was closed. No water in the pool so there is no excuse for not acknowledging on their website or on third party sites that the pool was not available. The desk clerk did cancel our reservation with no charges which we appreciated.

Pool closed indefinitely in the height of the tourist season. Unacceptable. The pictures of a beautiful pool on all websites is very misleading. Also, the room had a strange odor. We found another hotel with a beautiful pool down the road. We have never had a bad experience at any Hampton Inn until now.

Could have been a lot better

Did not have breakfast. Location was perfect for my travel needs.

My room smelled like a gym locker room, I didn’t have any hot water the first time I tried to shower, the room was awkward in layout and had a tight corner to navigate with luggage after entering. The per night cost was ridiculously elevated for a hotel carrying the Hilton name and meeting my quality standards in being an honors member. I don’t pay this kind of rate at higher quality properties near major resort areas.

It served our purpose

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fairly decent. The location was good as there were numerous shops and restaurants in the area .

Rooms need updating. The furniture was very worn and even parts were broken. The beds were extremely hard and not comfortable at all.

Overall it was good.

It was convenient to our location and the breakfast was good.

The beds were a little smaller than expected and not very comfortable. Our two teenage sons shared a bed and it was a bit cramped for them.

location was great

very warn out, too much wear and tear for the price. it needs to be replaced or refurbished. the staff was excellent and friendly, the breakfast was mediocre compared to other Hampton inns we stay at.

this hotel was fine for a short stay visiting JMU. The condition of the rooms was not great furniture had damage from us

The hotel is in a great location and was convenient for access to JMU where we were visiting. of the free breakfast in the morning and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

our room was a bit run down. It was clean, but not in great overall condition.

Great Location lots to do

Everyone was friendly. We were here before, so no big changes. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location has lots of places to eat and shop. Wish we were able to stay longer, were in town for a funeral, but love this area. Great that it is pet friendly.

Not much room to maneuver in room with the luggage carrier. Room felt tight especially for 4 people. Rooms are non smoking but people are allowed to smoke next to building doors. Need better breakfast choices, food offered was good but not much to choose from. We realize it could be due to shortages on products so realize it could be due to that. All the employees were friendly and helpful but it was disappointing we couldn't get a better room due to adult with walking issues. Closer to elevator would have been nice. I know it's not the hotels problem but people not cleaning up after their dog when there is clearly a nice area and poop bags if you don't have one is great. Area needs a clean up every so often, again realize it's not hotels fault.

Breakfast was very good! Hotel was kept very clean.

I had booked my stay with Booking.com two months in advance! I booked 2 rooms-one for me and one for my brother and his wife-each for 2- nights stay. Wanted to split the cost of the bill, which I thought wouldn't be a problem. Still hoping the issue is resolved!

Family weekend

Location was great, friendly staff. Comfortable and clean.

Hot water and water pressure had to be repaired the first day. Not happy that the answer was to go use a gym facility shower down the road. Should have received full refund but was given 30% off one days stay.

Meets expectations

The room was tired looking. Peeling wall paper, carpet squares not installed properly, gaps in between. Sofa looked shabby. Well worn. At I would not sit on it.
