Location was convenient, centered in Auburn and about 1/2 hour any direction to bigger cities (Syracuse, Cortland) and activities (wedding venues)

The room felt old & grungy as soon as we walked in, probably because the couch looked worn and a little disgusting that the armrests were shiny and getting black from wear😜. My adult son slept on the pullout bed and said he could feel every bar of the frame through the mattress, so not a good night’s rest. We peeled back the sheets and mattress pads to check for bed bugs (there weren’t any) and the threadbare mattress had written in marker on it, “April May June 2008” on it! Disgusting that a hotel would still be using such an old mattress! Even the mattress pad was worn and old. As for the daily cleanliness, the rooms seemed clean and in good order. The room had a coffee maker & frig, but no ice bucket, so we assume no ice machine anywhere? Doors of the elevator had trouble closing the night before, and the stairwell had a closed sign on it the next morning…is that even legal? I had called the hotel the afternoon we were to arrive to tell them we would be arriving later, and after the automated answering service had us on hold for over 6 minutes with no one answering, I hung up.
