About this apartment rental

An elegant period fully modernised, ground floor garden flat right in the heart of London's buzzing arts neighbourhood, Southbank, close to Tate Modern, the London Eye, Waterloo Station, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Shakespeare's Globe, the National Theatre, BFI National Film Theatre and many tubes and buses.

The space

A two bedroom, two bathroom flat (showers in both bathrooms - one walk-in, the other is over the bath) with a rear garden in a lovely quiet street of Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses close to the river in London's Zone 1.

Guest access

Two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a king bed and a further single bed can be made up on the sofa. Rear garden with BBQ, table and seating, kitchen-living-dining room, fully equipped kitchen, fridge-freezer, induction hob, oven and microwave and a dishwasher. There are two bathrooms, both with showers, one with a bath. There is a washer/dryer in the bathroom and outdoor space for drying clothes. Central heating throughout. High speed fibre broadband WiFi.

Interaction with guests

If I'm in town I will probably be staying close by, if I'm away then a relative or friend living nearby will be on hand.

The neighbourhood

Such a great place to be, located close to all the arts venues of London's Southbank such as the National Theatre, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Tate Modern, BFI National Film Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe, Borough Farmers' Market (for foodies!), the Old Vic theatre, the Young Vic theatre, Union Theatre, the London Eye, London Aquarium and many more! There are 6 supermarkets within a few minutes walk.

Getting around

Situated between two very convenient stations, Waterloo and Blackfriars and with many bus routes close by - though you will probably choose to walk most places! Covent Garden is a 15 minute walk and Soho is 25 minutes away on foot. London taxis can be hailed around the corner on the main road and Ubers will pick you up from the door.

Other things to note

There's a TV, a hi-fi and Wi-Fi and a radio! A hair dryer, a printer, a Nespresso machine, a washing machine, a dishwasher and a microwave oven. A high-chair and a cot can also be provided if requested when the booking is made.

Rather small but very nicely located apartment with a cute yard in the back. Damien was hands on at check-in and check-out and even came to bail us out on Sunday at 9PM when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the unit! Can’t say enough about his friendliness - he let us leave our suitcases prior to check in time so that we could enjoy Tower of London without dragging luggage with us, he let us do the same on the day of the check out so we had an extra hour to enjoy strolling along Thames River which is literally 3 minutes walk away from the apartment, he left a pack of croissants, some delicious candy and fruits for us on the kitchen table, he had power adapters we could use, etc. We’d stay there again!

Damien was an excellent host. He was there to meet us, to orient us to the flat and give us lots of great information about the area. The flat was situated in a great location just a short walk to the South Bank and restaurants. The Borough Market was a highlight. The flat was spacious, clean, fully equipped with all the amenities. It was great to have the outdoor garden area. A very minor suggestion would be to update the outdoor furniture. We would definitely stay here again if visiting London!

This was by far the best VRBO experience my family and I have had. Damien was a terrific host, checking in with us throughout our travel to London, and greeting us warmly upon arrival. We were incredibly grateful for this thorough tour of the apartment, and a lovely spread of croissants, fresh fruit, granola and flowers... and milk and a bottle of bubbly in the fridge. The apartment itself is perfectly situated, and easy walk from Waterloo station, and just 2 blocks from the shore of the Thames. We took a daily stroll along the river, down to the London Eye, the Tate Modern, Westminster, fantastic restaurants, entertainment and more. The apartment was clean and lovely, and gave us a wonderful taste of truly living in London. Home away from home. We can't wait to come back, and will tell all our friends!Thank you, Damien!

10/10 experience from start to finish, would definitely recommend to others and we hope to stay here again ourselves. Clean apartment; excellent location near the Waterloo tube stop, grocery stores, the Tate Modern, and the Thames; easy communication and quick response times from host. Host even left us some snacks and drinks for our arrival! We stayed for a week with our 1.5 year old and had a lovely time.
