Convenient location, pleasant staff, beautiful grounds.

No guest laundry service on site, we got absolutely soaked at the concert venue and weren’t able to dry our clothes.

This is a beautiful beautiful, historic property .

+++Lovely breakfast out on the open air terrace. Dining room victual quality and staff was admirable for this late in the season. Quite nice was Spa Services for guests offered with a discount during this time in the season as was discovered in the information materials conveniently located in the room

Other guests acting without any decorum. Disrespectful, entitled, selfish, noisy guests/room renters/day trippers exhibiting total lack of self awareness to others around them; just because they could afford to pay the bill. Specifically:*Smoking cigars in front of the expansive hotel entry in the rocking chairs overlooking the peaceful manicured grounds, knowingly chocking out hotel guests also sitting in the line of picturesque chairs . *People ignoring the existence of others, sitting in the several seats in front of the hotel awaiting the complimentary shuttle or a ride into town, by acting as self-service bell hops letting their car engines idle for 15-20 minutes in the hotel’s entry courtyard spewing chocking exhaust fumes as others sat quietly in those delightful rocking chairs while the perpetrators sauntered repeatedly back and forth from their respective rooms fetching luggage and other sundry items. *Letting doors slam at all hours as they ran in & out of park side promenade entrances appurtenant to the lodging wings of hotel *+++Outrageously bringing dogs (not ADA Service dogs) but sniffing peeing dogs to the dining tables indoors and outdoors ‼️•••OVERALL… predominately classless guests rude to waitstaff, hotel employees & other guests

Refund policy after purchasing the insurance to not have the correct information on Expedia listing only to be told too bad! Expedia has been in contact with the Gideon and they are refusing the refund. I did have to book because it was all last minute so I had no choice but to book two separate rooms, making this trip very expensive for me. I am very dissatisfied with the whole situation. Then to be charged a$17.99 fee without being made aware of this with booking with Gideon for the second room. Very disappointing overall.
