Location. History and architecture of the lodge.

The common spaces were very nice. The lobby is visually spectacular. There was plenty of seating which was spaced out so that our party could enjoy gathering without disturbing others or being disturbed. The staff around the hotel and restaurants were attentive and very friendly. Our dinner was very enjoyable...we chose to sit in the Empire lounge but ordered off the dinner menu. The breakfast buffet looked tasty but Triple Divide Coffee Co.was enough for us in the morning.
The rooms were disappointing. From previous reviews, we were expecting this and we were not pleasantly surprised. They were as bad as expected.

The beautiful old building
The old bathroom facilities and the shower had no pressure. No tv. No fridge. The guests above and around us were noisy. You can hear movement through the floor. It is an old historic property so understandable.

The location was pretty good for exploring the south eastern parts of the park.
WE knew because it was a historic inn that it was going to be expensive. But still the price did not justify the room. The biggest downside was the lack of electrical outlets to charge our devices. Fortunately I always travel with an extension power strip and long USB cords.
