Excellent breakfast with a good selection. The location was idea for the town centre

The hotel is an old building and so doesn't have a lift. This is a problem for elderly people and people who find stairs difficult

Great location, we visit Ilfracombe every Christmas as my family all get together to celebrate at my sisters house which was just a 5 min drive. Rooms were of a decent size Small area for onsite parking Owners were friendly upon arrival and showed us other rooms which they thought would be more suitable as we were the only ones staying in the hotel, we had booked four rooms in total.

We arrived on Christmas Eve. Bedrooms were extremely cold, we did notice that upon arrival but were told the rooms would heat up and they had just put on the radiators for us, that was at around 4pm(ish). We arrived back around 11pm and the bedrooms were still so cold with no heating on. I wore a thick jumper in bed with two pairs of socks and was still cold. When we went down for breakfast the dining area was cold with a little blow heater on, there was a wall heater in the room, I asked if they could turn it on but it was apparently broken. There was such a draft coming through the double garden doors too. I asked for scrambled eggs in toast and tea, the cup I poured my tea into smelt horrible, like an old stale smell, the second cup was not any better so couldn’t enjoy my morning cuppa. The scrambled eggs were greasy although I ate them as I was so hungry. I also later found out my brother had no heater in the bathroom, he said it was so cold at night he was dreading having to need the toilet in the night. When we came back to the hotel Xmas day night it was again cold.
