Hotel definitely has been upgraded, clean, new paint, nice staff. Great location for Lincoln sites.

The Only Springfield Option at the Center of My Venn Diagram

As there were numerous lodging options in Springfield, I did what I always do and created a Venn diagram. The Carpenter Street Inn was subsequently booked for $82+tax (less a $25 voucher from booking.com) as it was the only lodging contained in the intersection of the sets of Price, Location, Habitability, and Cancelabilty. It's the most nondescript hotel I ever stayed in. A three-story gray building with no signage except for a very modest sign marking the entrance to the parking lot. Friendly service, a clean, quiet room, with plenty of hot water.

It came with the free tasteless breakfast that all such lodgings offer, which is not so much a benefit to be complained about, but a feature to be ignored.

The showers need to be updated!

The room was very comfortable and near the attractions we wanted to go visit. Golden Coral and the Mall was a 15 minute drive.

The sink in the bathroom was clogged, the shower curtain had mold on the bottom, the shower made a screeching extremely loud noise and the water never did turn cold we ended up with steam walls/mirrors. We had to wait 1/2 an hour to take showers in between. I have a video of the clogged sink and the mold on the curtain.

Near tourist attractions and restaurants - but far away from the noise of the Interstate

close to restaurants and Capitol. Also, it was extremely quiet which many hotels cannot say

Disappointing

The location was close to the attractions. Friendly staff. Room seemed clean.

Breakfast did not taste very good. All of the juice options were broken. Waffle machine didn't work well.

Always clean everytime we have stayed.

The mattress being extremely worn was not pleasant, would've been nice if some items for detail were attended to in the bathroom, like a loose tile and the shower head being stained.

Unclean, unsafe.

The hotel does not smell clean from the moment you walk in the door. The elevator is dirty. The room was gross. Stained bedding, stained curtains, stained carpets, but also visible dirt throughout. It seems that the cleaning staff vacuums the main walkways and changes the sheets, and that's where cleaning ends. The room also smells unclean. We left immediately. I was told we'd get a refund, but as of a week later, still nothing. The neighborhood is also pretty scary. Nearby gas station has no less than 8 security cameras across the roofline.

pillows are not satisfactory, they are the size of a throw pillow and you only get 2 per bed.

Nice and quiet, clean with a few blemishes that could use fixing. Breakfast smelt very good but we opted for a local diner instead.

Husband said that the guy that checked him in was pretty rude.
