The hotel is full of character but mixes in modern features very subtly. The property is kept in immaculate condition. The ample amount of parking in a busy downtown was a great feature as well. Couldn’t have been happier with the stay

Loved the historical aspect, how friendly the front desk person was who greeted us Tuesday night and how warm and cozy but spacious the room was. Also, sparkly clean!!!!
I thought the Continental Breakfast was a bit weak but that is not an important feature for me because I generally come fully prepared with my own breakfast supplies.

Loved it was walking distance to all of the antique shops, restaurants downtown. Loved that it’s an old hotel that been renovated
Multiple entrances were closed off and main elevator wasn’t working. It’s still super nice but will need another renovation in a couple more years

The room was ok
Horrible breakfast, no effort to check on guests needs (towels, soap etc). I get that Post COVID hotels aren’t doing routine housekeeping. But I believe in some cases this is just an excuse to save money and not have to hire staff to daily cleaning. It has much less to do with a Post COVID era and more to do with just being cheap. If a guest stays four or five days, and you give them three towels and one combination of shampoo and body wash, it stands to reason that by the third day, they will probably need more supplies.
