Not good.

The breakfast was very nice. Scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles. Theresa the lady on staff did a great job of keeping things stocked.

When we arrived our room had a really bad musty smell. I went right away to the front desk to ask for some spray. I was given a can and was told that if it didn't work they could put some thing on the carpets, he waited until I sprayed the room and then wanted the can back. It only last a few minutes and the smell was back. Mean while I turned on the TV and it wanting my email acct to continue. I went to the bathroom to turn on the fan thinking that might help with the smell but no fan in the bathroom. I went back down to the desk again and found a different man there and I told him about the TV. He came to the room and reprogrammed the roku TV. I said that I wanted to do the carpet thing in the room and he said that we would need to be gone for several hours before we could continue the stay after deodorizing the room. It was now 7 pm. Just what you want to here after being on the road for over 10 hrs. We passed on the carpet stuff. That next morning we woke up with our allergies in full force from the musty, mildew smell. There are several hotels on this strip. We take this trip route several times a yr. I think we will be giving one of the other hotels a try.

Polite staff and nice pool, but the room door wouldn't lock the entire stay. I cannot recommend.

The staff were very polite in all interactions. The pool/spa area is very nice. The layout of the two queen bed suite had a living room with windowed double doors, which offered a nice place to relax while the kids slept in the bedroom area.

The bathroom light and some lamps were not functional, and the door to our room would not lock for the entirety of our stay. The staff was able to get the bathroom light working, although it continued to flicker. Staff attempted to fix the door lock twice but it would not stay secured. Staff did not offer alternate accommodations. The room service is every other day, though they have a sign to call the desk if you want it more frequent. Staff came to the room in the evening on our third day, but due to not being comfortable with leaving our room unsecured we were unable to use the service at that time. The wall mounted A/C unit was quite loud and had a periodic rumbling sound aside from the fan, if your children are used to a more steady noise it can be jarring. The A/C also did not cool the suite's "living room" area very well, so it is recommended to bring a fan of some kind to circulate the air. Most of the reviews were positive when we booked so it is possible we had an unusual experience, however during our stay we also saw multiple other guests complaining to staff about unknown issues.

I would stay here again, but would like to see them make some basic upgrades. The towels were worse than motel six.

We have friends and family in Ames and DesMoines. We will NOTuse the one in Ames again.

The woman fixing breakfast was rude when asked if they had decaf coffee. She became loud and stated that they had coffee and decaf tea. The fruit was one bruised and battered apple for our 2 day stay. We stayed in Des Moines at AmericInn and they gladly made decaf coffee for us and delivered it the table with a smile. Their large fruit bowl was full of oranges and apples. They were friendlly and very helpful. It does not take much to make a guest feel welcome.

it was way overpriced, terrible TVs, uncomfortable pull out sofa, small bathroom, $30 early check in fee (even if it’s only by 30 minutes)

Good. Liked the scrambled eggs and sausage.

Please add sugar free sugar to your condiments. I am prediabetic and like the waffles but need sugar free syrup. The refrigerated margarine is NOT spreadable. The rolling chair in our room was peeling and in sad condition. Needs to be replaced. Room 118.

When we stop in Ames, IA this is are go to place to rest and recharge when we go to visit our youngest daughter.

we have stayed here a few times and have loved it every time. Very clean and very welcoming staff.

The room was absolutely freezing. Even after hours it was still cold enough I stayed under the covers.
