Chief Motel

It's a very nice mom and pop motel. Obviously an older facility, but is well kept. The room I had was small, but met my needs. The queen bed I had was comfortable and it had three decent pillows. It has a small microwave and small refrigerator. They provide a 4 cup drip coffee maker and coffee. The bathroom could use a makeover, but it didn't bother me. There was plenty of hot water for the shower/tub combo. The WiFi worked well. The TV was small, but had a lot of channels. There is an indoor pool and hot tub. Parking is right outside the room, which I like, since it makes it easy to load and unload your vehicle. There is no breakfast, but there are plenty of restaurants very close by. I didn't come here to stay in the motel, I came to see the things in the area. The motel is close to all the area attractions.

Watch out for the bed frame, at the foot of the bed. If you're not careful you will hit your leg on it, and that will hurt.

Very clean room with good location. It is an older motel but staff was very friendly and well maintened.

Great location was great for our vacation, and we had the best two nights of sleep!!! Beds were so comfortable! TERRIFIC VALUE!

The coffee.. it might have been the local water. But that wouldn’t make me not return! If ever in this area, the Chief Hotel will be where we park for one night or one week!

We had a great two day stay at the Chief Motel! Bruce, the owner was friendly and very helpful in helping us plan activities. The motel was older but very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for visiting Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse along with Custer State Park. We were able to walk downtown to eat and visit the many shops. We would definitely stay again!
