Stunning oasis in Old Chatham, gorgeous en suite with beautiful private garden patio.
This is a hidden oasis right off Albany Turn Pike, very quiet, easy on-site parking. I pulled in after dark, so be aware of the directions and where to turn off Albany Turn Pike. The house is stunning. The en suite is extremely comfortable and has it's own entrance with a set of french doors into the well appointed bedroom The bathroom is stunning and the hostess provided a thoughtful basket of amenities should you forget to bring something. Freshly ground coffee an milk in the fridge makes the first morning lovely. I sat in the garden patio and enjoyed the morning. Right down the road is Jacksons, a local pub with great service and fun, delicious pub food.

The host was very nice, and the room served its purpose.
The location was very close to our family member's house. The fresh flowers in the room and the decorations were pretty. The bath and shower are very pretty. The shower is really nice. The property and landscaping are lovely and Amy, the host, was nice and even let us know about a little parade. She did come down and show us how to lock the door, but we still had trouble with it.
The parking is on the "street" which is a gravel/dirt road, so be prepared for rocks to get kicked up, there is also no designated parking for guests only. After hauling our stuff up the driveway, we were greeted with a snake sunning on the little and only path to the room which was very close to the entry door. I understand we are in the country. But still VERY unnerving. We also could not "lock" our door when we left. I called the host, and she was pretty nonchalant about it. She did come down and show us how to lock it that night, but we still had a hard time with it, so we never knew if the door was really locked or not. There was a horrible musty smell to the room (I could smell it on my cpap mask when I got home). The pillowcases were stained with makeup. There were cobwebs on the light fixtures and I'm not sure if you could lock the door at the top of the stairs for privacy from the house.

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable!
The room was very clean, comfortable, and well laid out. The bathroom was beautiful and clean. There’s an outside patio with comfortable seating by a gorgeous flower garden, lovely for enjoying morning coffee. Amy, our hostess, was lovely and helpful. She’s thought of every possible amenity, including both a coffee maker and an electric kettle—much appreciated by this tea drinker.
The room smelled musty when we arrived, but it cleared up after the first day. Be aware that the country roads are hilly, winding, and pitch black at night (no street lighting). Driving after dark was a white-knuckle experience, especially in rain and fog. After the first two nights, we made it a point to get back before dark.

Musty smell when entering, felt damp, no hvac controls, patio cushions soaked from the rain Wifi didn’t connect at times. Suggest a deck box for the cushions, dehumidifier, fan
