Great stay in Chinle!

The hotel is clean, comfortable and located in Canyon de Chelly. There is a cafeteria on the property and the food is decent. Complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. Trading Post has all kinds of Navajo art including woven blankets. I highly recommend taking their tour into the canyon. Reasonably priced, and a fun and informative way to see the ruins. Our guide, Harold was very knowledgeable, he also shared stories from his childhood in the canyon. The ride in the Pinzgauer vehicle was rough at times, so may not be right for everyone.

Bathroom was small.

On se demande où sont les 4 étoiles ! C est d un niveau 2 étoiles max. L accueil est froid, aucun sourire et elle "ne nous trouve oas dans les réservations"! Finalement je lui donne le numéro de réservation et elle trouve, sans s excuser. Pas de petit déjeuner.

Glad we spent 2 nights!

Response of staff to requests were quick. Your gift shop is exceptional, and could be emphasized.

Would have liked a king bed. Finding the place was challenging -- signs in town might be more specific: Go around roundabout to second exit; sharp right after Visitor Center. In our case we asked someone directions, and he happened to be your employee, so he rode with us to work!

Es ist das Hotel im Park, es lohnt sich trotzdem freundlich zu sein!!!

Die Nähe zum bzw. es war ja eigentlich im Park. Im Mai Juni, wenn es mehr blüht ist es bestimmt traumhaft!

Unser Apartment war direkt zum Parkplatz! Wir hatten so früh gebucht, da hätte man uns auch ein Zimmer zum Innenhof geben können. Wir saßen dann in der Sonne auf dem Parkplatz… Das Personal war nicht freundlich. Man fühlte sich eher, als ob man stört. Das ist natürlich immer subjektiv, aber es war durchgehend bei allen Mitarbeiterinnen so. Schade!!

Great place to stay near Canyon de Chelly

The location was inside the Canyon de Chelly park. You can't get any closer. It's an older lodge, but, for the price, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed.

The property was a little dated, but I said is was clean. The beds were comfortable. I'd stay here again. The food was quite good and better than anything we could find in town.

A big two thumbs up!

Beautiful old fashioned lodging. The grounds and setting were quite beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bonus was having a cafeteria on the grounds. It is very close to Canyon de Chelly. Highly recommend it!

Gute Lage, leider unfreundliches Personal.

Zimmer waren sauber, passabel eingerichtet. Lage zum Canyon de Chelly super, Ortsmitte fußläufig zu weit.

Personal war unfreundlich und desinteressiert (hatten wir in 4 Wochen USA sonst nicht erlebt). Wir waren 15 Minuten vor 3 da und mussten warten, da wir erst ab 3 ins Zimmer durften (obwohl es längst fertig war). Deutschen Büroktratismus hätte ich hier nicht erwartet... Abendessen war sehr unterwältigend in ungemütlicher Atmosphäre.

Séjour inutile et très désagréable

L’emplacement très proche du parc mais en fait cette visite se fait très vite. Inutile de dormir et prévoir la visite sur la route d’un autre parc.

Accueil déplorable. Nous sommes arrivés à 14h et on nous a hurlé que le check in n’était pas avant 16h. Sommes revenus à 15h55 et pas un mot si n’est : credit card and passport ! Merci les relations humaines

Nice lodge very close to Canyon de Chelly

The lodge is very close to the entrance of Canyon de Chelly Nat'l Mnmt. The surroundings are quiet and safe. One can access the South Rim or North Rim scenic drive of Canyon de Chelly very conveniently, for example, to view the sunset or sunrise. There is a restaurant onsite and breakfast is available to order.

Highly recommend the Thunderbird

The staff in the restaurant, gift shop, and hotel were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Most other hotels could learn how a customer should be treated from the staff at the Thunderbird. The price was the best value on our trip out West. The room was comfortable, good sized, had a full table and chairs, big TV. If you stay anywhere but the Thunderbird when you come to Canyon de Chelly you're missing out.

The shower diverter was a little iffy.

Didn’t like the fees tacked on to the cost of the stay. I wouldn’t have stayed there if I would have known about the extra fees.
