Hotel Tabard Inn

Great charming atmosphere and location, and the stafff was helpful. Enjoyed hanging out in the sitting room by the fire.

The temperature control and water pressure in the shower were nonexistent - made it difficult to get a full shower.

I've stayed at Tabard in 2025 & 2026 for several weeks total. It's eclectic, romantic, charming, and interesting at every turn. Imagine a late 19th Century Townhouse, fully furnished to the early 20th Century style, with art and photos of every period decorating every wall and shelf. That's the setting. Now add a top shelf restaurant and excellent staff. Washington has many but none better.

Please do a better job of maintenance on the electrical / plumbing / mechanical fixtures and equipment. I could give you a long list but that is not my job. Your facility would benefit with a proper inspection of every switch, light fixture, plumbing fixture, air conditioner, radiator valve, table, chair, hinge, lock, door, etc. in the place. Good Luck.

The hotel and room were great. As soon as I spotted it online, I knew my friend would love the quirkiness and oldy worldy decor. It was comfortable and a big room, and well located for people relying on public transport. No TV, which would’ve been unnecessary for us. And for any runners, Roosevelt Island parkrun is easy to get to!

As with most US hotels, breakfast is an additional cost. But we were given money-off vouchers, and the breakfast was really good. Wi-fi in our room wasn’t great, so a booster could improve that.

This was an alright place to stay—great location, comfortable bed, and spacious room.

It definitely is a very 19th century vibe—no convenient outlets by the bed, no TV, no elevator, thin walls so you can hear people walking around and chatting, and no blackout curtains to cover the bright light outside the window. I also saw a roach in my room which was not ideal. Finally, the staff was a bit rude about luggage storage at check-out. If you’re looking for a place with character that’s convenient to great food/activities/transit, this place is for you, but if you are sensitive to light/noise/etc., I’d choose another option.
