This is my third stay here for skiing and I plan to return again next ski season.

Comfortable beds, Nice shower. Close to Whiteface Mountain for skiing. Good value for the price.

We were there on a Monday and unfortunately the adjoining restaurant in not open on that day. However there are good options close by.

The room is spacious but there is hair everywhere. The blankets are full of hair unfortunately.

We had dinner at the restaurant there and it was exceptional. The server was so friendly and everything was delicious

Would definitely stay at again if we ever return to the area!

I liked the location of the motel. It was not too far from Lake Placid or the Adirondack Loj for high peaks hiking. The adjacent road consisted of a beautiful car ride alongside the Ausable River and falls. The facility and rooms were both clean and updated and had a wonderful cabin-like feel. The office had an assortment of games to borrow for added fun. No one was present at check-in, but the guest's last names were posted with the accompanying room number on the TV screen in the office. No keys or cards were needed to enter your room as it was a number pad preprogrammed to the last 4 digits of your phone...NICE! There were 2 pools onsite...a kiddie pool with fountain and the other with a diving board (and a surprisingly 9-foot depth). Both well maintained. A community fire pit was located in back between the motel and river. It was definitely a pet friendly motel with supplied waste removal bags.

No microwaves in the room, but the main office had one for community use. It wasn't bad for us as our room was adjacent, but it might have been more frustrating if we were further away. There was a small fridge/freezer unit in our room which was perfect.

Outstanding destination for fly fishing

Amazing location for fly fishing. Located right on the Ausable River, this place is a paradise for anglers. The resort is a beautiful place where you can truly enjoy the river and mountains.

Great place to stay for skiing at Whiteface Mountain

Very close to Whiteface Mountain.

The restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday which were the days I was there. There are other dining options nearby however.

they are using COVID-19 precautions as an excuse to not provide room cleaning. They don’t even staff a front desk. everything is ‘contactless’

Clean, quiet motel close to Whiteface skiing area

The room was spacious and clean, very quiet. The bed was comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The check-in/out process was contactless and smooth. We chose The Hungry Trout resort based on location (very close to the skiing hill) and reviews. There is a restaurant and pub next door, very convenient if you don't want to drive to Lake Placid. I think this accommodation is amazing also in the summer - it's close to nature and it has a pool. We will definitely come back.

Great staff and service (if you ever need it) The place has an outdoor pool and lots of outdoor space (including playground, hillside for sledding, and firepits). <5 mins from the Whiteface Mountain resort, self-check in. Will love to come back!

Great value! Super close to Whiteface mountain, Lake Placid, and Wilmington. Everything was clean and staff were nice.
