The beds were comfortable, room well laid out, air conditioning was quiet and worked well, walk in shower was clean and worked great. Lots of drawers and closet space. Curtains kept the room very dark
The coffee machine was the only thing that let me down. Got up at 4:30 for an early get away and the coffee machine just mashed the pods and speeed water everywhere. Something must have been broken and likely just needs repair or replacement. Tough way to start a big drive though.
The Velvet restaurant has a very limited menu with meh over complicated items. No oatmeal or pancake options for breakfast and only sour dough bread. I was trying to fuel for a 35km bike ride. Then after the ride I was craving a burger and fries and the burger had sauerkraut and some other weird things along with bacon. I should have read it closer but why not just have a good burger. The fries were great.
Two small bookable saunas and no hot tub. I would have killed to soak my bones after that epic ride.

It’s too far to walk into town and there are no trails to do that. You have to walk along the highway.

The beds, hotel, location and amenities are all lovely and we really enjoy rossland. The cleaning staff and restaurant staff were all very nice.
We stayed at the Josie last year and really enjoyed it, which is why we decided to come back for a little mini moon after our wedding. We noted this in our booking and the hotel acknowledged it, but nothing was done to recognize the occasion during our stay. Given it was the shoulder season and there were very few guests, that felt a little disappointing. We still had a nice time and were excited to be there, but since it was a special trip for us and on the more expensive side to celebrate the occasion, we had hoped for a bit more effort to make it feel special.
Also, just a heads up for anyone booking through booking.com — there is a pet fee of 25 dollars a night that isn’t listed there and they will just charge it to your room without telling you.
