Hawks House Inn

We stayed in 4 different inns in midcoast Maine area and this was my favorite! It is not in a dramatic coastal location but is tucked in a quiet spot ideal for relaxing but close to many ME attractions, including Pemaquid Point lighthouse. It is a historic inn, and the “vibe” is traditional Maine, with charming antique/ vintage furnishings. The garden in back was beautiful. Stephen was an excellent host. We needed to arrive late and he gave us clear instructions as to check in. The kitchen area is always available for use, and is well stocked with teas, coffee & basic condiments. No breakfast is offered, but excellent banana bread is complementary. There are large bins (one labeled for each room) in the refrigerator for perishable foods that guests bring. I would like to come back to stay there and just relax for a few days!

This is not a criticism, but it would not be an ideal place for young children.

Extremely clean, really nice and accommodating host, great communication, really comfortable bed. The bathrooms, despite being shared, were cleaner than most hotels. Best Airbnb I have stayed in

Honestly nothing

What a beautiful place! And that banana bread... I will seriously dream about it.

Location was very isolated and quiet despite the proximity of the road. It was truly charming.

Nothing at all. Despite being remote several fine restaurants were in easy driving distance.
