The food and service were outstanding. The people were extremely friendly.
My only disappointment would be the missing of having our room cleaning after we left the sign on the door one of the days.

The breakfast was quite good. The management was good. The grounds were well kept. There was lots room on the main floor to loaf round in and there was plenty to do on rainy days.
Let’s face it. It’s an old building more than 200 years I believe. And so nothing was level. Don’t expect modern.
The bar and the restaurant aren’t open every day, which was disappointing.

The breakfasts were a full breakfast and excellent if you liked their limited choices and you have no dietary restrictions. The hot breakfasts were very hearty and tasty on the two mornings of our stay - sausage and gravy on a biscuit, and huevos rancheros.
The choice of non-caffeinated herbal teas was very limited. More fruit with breakfast and more vegetables with dinner would have been desirable, as the servings were quite sparse. More gluten-free or dairy-free dessert options would allow some diners to indulge their sweet tooth after dinner.

The location is excellent.
The room we booked was in poor condition that did not look like the photos. The dresser had a chunk of wood out of it, the curtains were ripped, blinds were broken and there was a stain on the couch. The bathroom had frozen pipes and we were told that we could use another bathroom in the main building. We received another room only upon my mention that I noticed was available on the website. It’s too bad because this used to be a very lovely Inn.
