Our comment: Treat yourself to a dream stay in an idyllic and peaceful setting. Our property on the way to the Jardins d'Eyrignac, on the road to St Jean de Compostela and the medieval cities of another time, is nestled in the heart of the Lot valleys (Souillac, Rocamadour, Gouffre Padirac...), Dordogne (Sarlat, Lascaux, Montignac..), Correze (Brive, Pompadour, Collonges la Rouge).... and it extends over an area of 250 m2, close to an 18-hole golf course. The interior spaces are well furnished and the neat decoration makes this villa a warm and cozy place of very good quality, at the height of the welcome reserved for you... A local artist has produced veritable frescoes, whether it's a trompe l'oeil library or a circus scene in a bedroom. The many rooms with vast volumes behind their ironwork overlook the garden, the swimming pool and the wooded hills.: Outside, the environment is completely green, giving a generous and exotic setting. The fully fenced property has several acres of wood + grass land around the house. The view is south facing with sun all day. In our garden many places have been arranged for relaxation and rest in the open air: Next to the heated and fenced swimming pool, you can take tea under the shade of the kiosk, or relax on the terracotta terrace. Also available is a flowered veranda with its copings from the Château de Savenes (82) and its pink and red bricks from Toulouse + other terraces. An outdoor kitchen will allow you to use plancha, barbecue, coffee machine, sink and a large marble table, shaded by the large oak tree. The activities available around the house are 18-hole golf course 2 km away, mountain biking, climbing, horse riding, forest walks, hiking on marked trails; ....The nearby Dordogne river offers fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Une maison qui serait idyllique moyennant quelques investissements.
Nous avons passé de bons moments en famille (8 personnes) début juillet. Peu de moustiques ou de guêpes. Aucun moustique-tigre. La décoration intérieure surprend par ses composantes moyen-orientales. Voici nos impressions sur une échelle de 1 à 5. Les points forts d’abord. 5/5 pour le propriétaire, disponible au moindre souci. 5/5 aussi pour la localisation, les extérieurs, le calme, le kiosque et les zones ombragées. Idem 5/5 pour la climatisation, la literie confortable, les lits dressés et les serviettes disponibles. Nous donnons 3/5 à la piscine chauffée. Son épuration au sel est une merveille par rapport au chlore, mais l’eau n’était qu’à 22° au début (mauvais temps la semaine précédente). La piscine n’est jamais complètement au soleil car la végétation actuelle est beaucoup plus haute que sur les photos. Un élagage des pourtours serait le bienvenu. Maintenant les points faibles. L’accès internet vaut 1/5. Il est instable et peu rapide. La sécurité mérite 2/5. Les escaliers extérieurs (dont celui vers la piscine) présentent des zones non plates et ne possèdent aucune rampe. Attention pour les enfants ou les personnes à mobilité réduite. Les nombreux tapis dans toutes les pièces provoquent des trébuchages (cfr. bords retournés de plusieurs d’entre eux). En outre, tous ces tapis ne favorisent pas l’hygiène. L’éclairage intérieur et extérieur reçoit 2/5 et ne correspond plus aux photos. Celui du kiosque est symbolique ; impossible d’y lire le soir. La grande table de terrasse extérieure n’est pas éclairée ; nous avions heureusement une puissante lampe de camping. Les points lumineux intérieurs sont rares et souvent de faible intensité. Par ex. le plafonnier de la salle à manger ne possède qu’une seule ampoule LED de 4 W et il n’y a pas d’autre éclairage dans la pièce. Plusieurs points lumineux sont hors service. L’équipement de cuisine mérite une moyenne de 3/5. Les couverts, vaisselles, casseroles, accessoires, etc … sont très satisfaisants, mais la gazinière est hors d’âge. Le plus petit des cinq brûleurs est hors service. Faire mijoter quelque chose est impossible. Quant au four, sa montée en température est d’une lenteur effarante. Le frigo/surgélateur est de bonne qualité, mais la partie frigo est petite pour 8. Nous avions heureusement une glacière de voyage. Enfin, le barbecue mérite 2/5. A part une vieille grille, aucun instrument n’est disponible, et le socle de braises incliné vers les pieds du cuistot impose de faire très attention.

Een prachtig, rustig gelegen woning, van alle gemakken voorzien.
Veel privacy in en om de woning, zeker ook aan het zwembad.
Ruime kamers, goede bedden, mooie BBQ en bijzonder smaakvol ingericht. Ruim voldoende servies en keukenspullen. De vriendelijke eigenaar woont vlakbij en is zeer behulpzaam. Een absolute aanrader.

Bereits zum zweiten Mal waren wir Gast in der Villa Tamaris und haben einen wundervollen Urlaub verbracht. Die im orientalischen Stil mit persönlicher Note liebevoll eingerichtete Villa ist sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, bis hin zu den klimatisierten Räumen. Der Außenbereich bietet herrliche Sitzgelegenheiten. Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Das große, vollständig abgeschlossene Grundstück ist ideal für Reisen mit Kindern und Vierbeinern. Besonders zum Genießen ist der großzügige, nicht einsehbare Poolbereich. Das Umland bietet einiges an Sehenswürdigkeiten, die mit Rad oder Auto erkundet werden können. Den nahegelegenen Golfplatz haben wir für den kleinen und großen Hunger aufgesucht. Hier hat aber auch Souillac ein entsprechendes Angebot.
Die Familie Marzouk ist sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit und steht einem auch bei Notfällen schnell zur Seite. Die Kommunikation ist problemlos auch in englisch möglich.

Gute Unterkunft
Die Unterkunft ist geräumig , groß und schön.Sie bietet viele Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen und drinnen.Alles war sauber und ordentlich, der Pool war sehr gut.
Das Haus ist ruhig gelegen und 6.5 km vom Ort entfernt.Der Aufenthalt war alles in allem sehr unkompliziert.

La maison est parfaite pour des retrouvailles en famille, chacun a bien son espace à l’intérieur comme a l’extérieur. La maison est belle, très agréable. Les extérieurs et la piscine sont bien entretenus. L’accueil du propriétaire est chaleureux.

De très belles vacances
Un propriétaire très sympathique et aux petits soins, tout d'abord, une belle maison ensuite bien décorée avec des chambres bien disséminées (donc pas de gêne entre nous), une belle piscine, un jardin bien ombragé, du calme appréciable car quasiment pas de voisins, de la clim dans les pièces où cela peut être utile.... Donc un très bon séjour pour notre grande famille. Une petite recommandation : un four plus compétitif. Je recommande très fortement la maison

Vacances de rêve
Nous avons passé 3 semaines dans cet endroit idyllique. La maison était d'une propreté étonnante. Le jardin et sa piscine sont splendides. Si vous souhaitez du calme et du repos, alors précipitez vous, au milieu de la verdure pas un bruit. Quant à notre hôte, rien à dire : gentillesse, prévenance et attentionné. Bref un endroit à ne pas manquer.

réveillon de noël 2019
Nous avons passé dans cette maison accueillante et agréable un très bon réveillon de noël à deux familles. Le beau temps n'ayant pas été toujours présent, nous avons bien profité de belles soirées autour de la cheminée. Belle région et beaux villages à découvrir. Merci beaucoup à M. MARZOUK pour son accueil et la dégustation des produits régionaux. Au plaisir d'y revenir cette fois-ci aux beaux jours. M.Danielle

La villa Tamaris est une très belle maison, pleine de charme, et le lieu idéal pour se reposer, découvrir la région et passer de bons moments entre amis ou en famille.
Les installations extérieures permettent de profiter du jardin dans tous ses recoins : une grande table pour déjeuner à l'ombre, un salon sous le kiosque très agréable en soirée, sans oublier la piscine aux dimensions généreuses. Et en cas de mauvais temps, on peut encore se replier dans la véranda.
A l'intérieur les 5 chambres spacieuses, richement décorées, les 3 salles de bain aux matériaux travaillés, ainsi qu'une belle cuisine bien équipée permettent d'accueillir aisément plusieurs familles.
Un grand merci à Amal et Rashid pour leur gentillesse et leur accueil chaleureux ; rarement des propriétaires auront été autant aux petits soins pour nous.
Pour conclure, nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances à Souillac et y reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Un très agréable séjour
Nous avons passé un excellent moment avec nos amis et enfants. La maison est bien équipée et les espaces extérieurs très appréciables. Les chambres sont très agréables. Il faut juste noter que les chambres ne sont pas toutes dans la maison principale - pas toujours pratique avec des enfants en bas âge. A part ça, la maison est très bien agencée. Nous la recommanderons vivement.

Superbe séjour
Nous venons de passer 2 semaines dans la Villa Tamaris avec nos enfants et nos 3 petites-filles.Ce fut du pur bonheur ! Villa Tamaris est une belle demeure que nous n'oublierons pas,tout y est parfait : les chambres,les salles de bain,la piscine,le calme de l'endroit...Ajoutons à cela une magnifique région et de charmants propriétaires, disponibles mais discrets aussi.
Nous remercions encore une fois Amal et Rachid pour leur accueil et si nous revenons dans le Lot,nous n'hésiterons pas une seule seconde à revenir à Villa Tamaris

Un séjour 5 étoiles dans une maison Tip-Top
Un très bon accueil avec une arrivée anticipée (Merci M. & Mme Marzouk pour avoir organisé notre arrivée pour midi). Une maison dans un havre de verdure, au calme absolu et sans aucun vis-à-vis. Des grandes chambres, un très bel espace de vie. On se sent tout de suite bien dans cette maison. Pour les apéros,en fonction de la meteo, il y a le choix entre la véranda ou la pergola cosy. Pour les balades, la maison est à la croisée des chemins entre Sarlat, le gouffre de Padirac, les plus beaux villages de France, ...
En résumé, nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances dans cette maison tout confort. .

Fantastic host, beautiful villa, stunning area
We have just returned from a week's stay at Marzouks family villa.
The villa, its gardens and swimming pool were fantastic and all well looked after. Facilities were great too, kitchen was equipped really well. Marzouk was a great host. He was always available if needed yet gave us space and privacy to enjoy our family holiday.
We were a group of five adults and 5 children. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds and playing in the pool.
We would recommend this villa to anyone looking for the ideal Southern France holiday. Thank you Rashid and family for making us feel so welcomed.

Family stay at Villa Tamaris
Great location allowed us to visit Domme, Martel, Rocamadour and Sarlat. We had a lovely stay at Villa Tamaris and a very relaxing week. Rashid was very welcoming, and you can see the effort and attention to detail that he has made building and furnishing this beautiful property. It has lots of lovely little touches, lots of room, a brilliant pool area, etc. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

The property is beautiful and very well decorated.
Nothing is missing, we enjoyed the pool and the garden.
Beautiful place with its outdoor kitchen and barbecue.

fantastic family holiday
Arrival date actually 28/5/16 calendar won't allow that entry.......the property is to die for we had organised a family holiday with people arriving from Spain and England , this is an ideal location to meet. The owner exceeds all expectations ensuring our stay was everything we hoped for, even when the storms came he would always make sure all was ok. The house itself is well equipped both inside and out the kids loved the pool and the freedom of the location which is both safe and secure. We would highly recommend this property to anyone and need look forward to returning

Marzouk's home is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The house is very big with plenty of rooms for a large group. It situated in a small (very small…) village close to great scenery and tourists attractions. It has a large garden, swimming pool and many comfortable places to have a barbeque, party or just to sit and enjoy reading a book. The pictures reflect perfectly the house and the surrounding.
A large part of renting an HomeAway house for a vacation is the involvement of the host. Marzouk is a perfect host. He was just delightful and interesting to talk with. He made us fell at home and took care of all our needs including fire woods, extra everything, recommendations for restaurants, travel suggestions and more. He made himself available but kept a discreet distance. He gave us the impression that he want us to have a pleasant and memorable vacation. This was the best HomeAway experience we've had. Overall, we had a delightful experience at the house. Definitely highly recommended.
Marzouk took upon himself to share with us his knowledge of the area, the history, the local ways of life etc. After a few days we have felt that we have a true friend. His English was very good (as oppose to many French people). We have met his family when he invite us to eat out with some friends. I definite feel that his involvement made our vacation a great success.

It situated in a small (very small…) village close to great scenery and tourists attractions. Rashid, the owner, was extremely pleasant, helpful, and unobtrusive, dealing with anything we needed very quickly.
The location was fantastic - the area is beautiful, the villa very peaceful, and the local town Souillac has everything you could need. There's plenty to do and see in the area… we just need to go back for another two weeks to do it!

I was very keen to re-visit Souillac/Sarlat area for a family holiday, and noticed that Villa Tamaris had an impressive 19 out of 19 five star reviews at the time. It was perfectly located for the area and seemed to have everything we needed, as well as lots of satisfied customers.
We arrived and it was immediately apparent that we had chosen well. The house is well looked after, the layout perfect for a family to enjoy a holiday. The swimming pool is great and the outside area is perfect for relaxing and for outside dining. The kitchen is well appointed, with all the crockery, utensils, glasses and cooking pots one could wish for, and also has toaster, microwave, small oven, coffee maker etc. There is also a washing machine and a dishwasher, all easy to work. The pool is capable of being locked from both its entrances if you have children.
The house is clean and well maintained, with plenty of linen and bedding. The house layout is good, with a separate apartment also at pool level which is a bit cooler than the main house.
Rachid is the perfect host, always ready to offer advice and assistance and to deal with any small matter where assistance is required, but otherwise is unobtrusive.
The house is quiet and perfectly situated for exploring Dordogne/Lot/Perigord, and there are many attractions nearby and things to do. The produce markets in the nearby towns are great, there are many, many great restaurants and cafes around and lots for kids to do. We particularly enjoyed visiting Rocamadour, St Cirq, Sarlat, Rouffignac, St Leon and Maison Forte de Reignat. Also the Friday market at Souillac was great, the market stall holders were friendly and welcoming.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday, and this was in large part due to this lovely house and its facilities, the great location and the wonderful welcome and assistance from Rachid.
I wholeheartedly recommend this villa and very much hope that we can return one day, as even after two weeks there were still lots of things we wanted to do!

We arrived and it was immediately apparent that we had chosen well. The house is well looked after, the layout perfect for a family to enjoy a holiday. The swimming pool is great and the outside area is perfect for relaxing and for outside dining. The kitchen is well appointed, with all the crockery, utensils, glasses and cooking pots one could wish for, and also has toaster, microwave, small oven, coffee maker etc. There is also a washing machine and a dishwasher, all easy to work. The pool is capable of being locked from both its entrances if you have children.
The house is clean and well maintained, with plenty of linen and bedding. The house layout is good, with a separate apartment also at pool level which is a bit cooler than the main house.
Rachid is the perfect host, always ready to offer advice and assistance and to deal with any small matter where assistance is required, but otherwise is unobtrusive.
The house is quiet and perfectly situated for exploring Dordogne/Lot/Perigord, and there are many attractions nearby and things to do. The produce markets in the nearby towns are great, there are many, many great restaurants and cafes around and lots for kids to do. We particularly enjoyed visiting Rocamadour, St Cirq, Sarlat, Rouffignac, St Leon and Maison Forte de Reignat. Also the Friday market at Souillac was great, the market stall holders were friendly and welcoming.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday, and this was in large part due to this lovely house and its facilities, the great location and the wonderful welcome and assistance from Rachid.
I wholeheartedly recommend this villa and very much hope that we can return one day, as even after two weeks there were still lots of things we wanted to do!

A delightful villa with a superb swimming pool.
We spent many hours on a number of websites looking for an ideal place to stay for our first visit to the Dordogne, when we eventually came across the very classy Villa Tamaris.
What a lovely choice! As soon as we arrived Rashid and his family made us feel very welcome, helped by a chilled bottle of wine, a loaf of that delightfully crusty French bread and a selection of local cheeses for us to enjoy after our long drive from the UK.
The villa is very clean and comfortable with a superb and well equiped kithchen area, a large lounge and an indoor dining room with lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses... all of good quality.
The front garden was the perfect setting for those long shady lunches and the evening Barbecues, helped by a very comfortable gazebo with a settee and armchairs and an outdoor dining table for 8 people.
Just past the front door and down a short flight of steps there was the delightful swimming pool with its sunny terraces and tranquil setting which was much used and appreciated by the family, in particular the two Grandchildren! A perfect spot for the siesta and a few water sports on Lilos for the more energetic!
With a group of eight people, one of whom has to use a wheelchair, we couldn't have selected a more friendly and a more suitable venue.for our holiday and where we could all socialise and dine together in some degree of comfort.
The small riverside town of Souillac is just 4 kms away for the supermarket shopping and the restaurants.....not to mention the wine tasting and the sampling of the local liqueurs!
So...full marks to Rashid and his lovely family for the brilliant welcome to his lovely home, and the wonderfully peaceful week which ensued.
We hope very much to be able to return soon to the Villa Tamaris and to continue our exploration of this remarkable area.
