On my first (Monday) night, I arrived in my 12-bed room, with the window wide open to the Grote Markt, where a beer festival was being advertised, expecting havoc; but I was alone, it was pretty quiet outside, and I went to sleep in peace.
On the second night, a flock of Dutch youth disturbed the peace until 3 am, but I had brought my earplugs.
My roommates were nice and quiet. In all, I slept well, except on the last night when it was too hot.
The bathrooms are quite primitive and not very comfortable, but well kept. The showers are adequate, but the smell there was off. Breakfast is basic, but it's fine.

The manager, Laurie was very lovely, and offered great assistance. She assisted with sightseeing places and maps. The breakfast also offered milk alternatives. I also appreciated the lift, and the other housemates were lovely.

The location is great; everything is within walking distance. Free coffee was okay; breakfast is very basic (cereal, toast (although a bit stale), juice, cold meats and cheese).
Place really needs a deep clean. The floors are incredibly dirty and hostel rooms smell musty and unclean. There is only one toilet per floor, which is a problem on weekends when the hostel is full, and the basin area is shared between men and women which can get awkward. The common area is grubby and there was a lot of old food lying around. Obviously because the hostel is directly on the market, pubs and restaurants get extremely loud til all hours of the morning.
It's a tolerable stay for a single night, but I'd rather spend more money on cleaner and safer feeling facilities next time.
