Serene by the Sea

Breakfast was omelettes, toast/pastries, juice. Enough to get you going for the day. The location could not have been better. Access to the sea is steps from your room, and a barrier island makes the sea calm, not wavy. Perfect for swimming and the water is warm. We had the family cabin and it was very nice. One large bedroom and one smaller one. The kitchen had a good size fridge and there is a coffee maker, stove top and microwave. Dishes, pots/pans in the cupboards and dish liquid for cleaning up. The living room area has a large TV, 2 large chairs and a couch - very comfortable. Best of all (for me) is the sheets on the beds are 100% cotton - no 50/50 sheets to make you feel uncomfortable in a tropical climate. Also, the A/C works very well and cools very quickly - no need to leave it on and waste electricity when you are out and about during the day. The family who owns Serene by the Sea is the very definition of hospitality. Very helpful, friendly and gracious. There are only 9 units, so it is very quiet - not lots of noisy guests. In fact, many of the other guests we spoke to said they were repeat customers - all agreed Serene by the Sea is the perfect place to stay. Please know that it is necessary to have a car when staying here. It is not near the touristy areas and there are only a few fish restaurants in walking distance. There is plenty of free parking. Book early, as the reservations fill up fast. I booked 3 months before our stay and was lucky to get a reservation (and it was shoulder season, not the busy winter season). We would have stayed longer, but the family cabin was booked solid (as were most of the other units) for the week before and after my stay. Aruba is so wonderful and there is so much to do that it would be a shame to stay for less than a week, especially since it can be costly and a long flight to get there.

There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Everything about my stay was perfect.

My husband and I went on a trip to Aruba for a friend’s wedding. We decided to break away from the conventional resort experience and explore alternative accommodations. After some time of doing research and exploring our options, we settled on this hidden gem that exceeded our expectations. The location was simply stunning! Waking up to the breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea right outside our door was an unforgettable experience. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making my husband and I feel right at home. The breakfast was simple yet delicious, prepared with love by the chef. One of the best parts was that there are popular local restaurants within walking distance, and there are so many activities to enjoy at Serene by the Sea.

This location is about at 20 min drive from the touristy areas for shopping and the popular beaches. If you can even say that’s a negative bc we had a rental car and enjoyed around the island.

Hotel was on the beach practically. You could snorkel or kayak, the breakfast was made at the moment you were going to eat it.

I loved the location right on the water. Also the massage service was phenomenal and I definitely recommend!

I ended up cancelling because I was unaware that the hotel was under construction and I was looking for a nice relaxing stay. However, this place has a lot of potential and is in a beautiful location.
