Relais Le Betulle

Third time coming back to Relais Le Betulle: as always, the hotel meets all expectations. The rooms are quiet, the staff is nice and all the facilities are great. Breakfast is still very good also. We were happy to see that this year there were also only a very few wasps around the pool, as opposed to last years. Food selection at the pool bar has also improved, which was also very welcome - nevertheless maybe it could improve a little bit further with the possibility to get a simple pasta perhaps from the restaurant during lunch hours - it would help not having to change from beachwear. As always, our dog was very welcome and she could even hang around with us by the pool (not inside of course).

Perhaps pool umbrellonis by the pool could be included in the price of the stay and not charged. Pool bar staff sometimes seem to charge "coperto" for items even when one picks it up at the bar when they are ready. It drives against asking drinks/food multiple times - as everyone puts the charges on the room, perhaps limiting to 1-2-3 coperto/room/day could serve the purpose and at the same time ensure that guests keep consuming - it's just not tempting to ask for a 5 euro aperol spritz with a 2 euro coperto every time. Mosquitoes are still a problem, but it's unrelated to the hotel. Perhaps a mosquito repellent in the rooms would be a welcome addition, or a mosquito net on the terrace doors, so guests could ventillate the room instead of having to use the airco - but without the fear of getting bitten throughout the night. It is also one of the reasons why we didn't sit outside or on the balcony at all (unfortunately).

Everything was exceptional, the staff, the facility, the breakfast, the cleanliness, comfort, and location.

The location being only 7 min to train was unusually difficult to get a ride arranged in a taxi or uber. Hotel should staff a full time driver to accommodate guests.

The staff were very helpful, although unfortunately limited by the hotel’s policies. Nevertheless, they provided us with excellent recommendations for excursions in the area.

There were no wine glasses in the room – quite surprising, especially in one of Italy’s most renowned wine regions. On top of that, we had to pay extra just to borrow a couple of glasses from the reception, which felt completely unnecessary. An additional fee was also charged for having drinks served by the pool. These practices leave a poor impression of the service, particularly considering the substantial amount one pays to stay here.

Nice location, good views, good size room.

The property is so far below the possibilities! Staff are not attentive, not very friendly, it’s extremely anonymous, really like no one cares. Breakfast is boring and way too basic. Nothing outstanding - not even prosecco in the prosecco region! We could not sleep for one night due to hotel cleaning noise. No apologies offered! We can tell: this used to be a top location. Now it’s mediocre at max. And it’s all due to people.
