We normally stay in hotels, so haven't much experience of Chambres d'Hote to compare. The key feature of Le Vigneronne is the exceptionally friendly and helpful welcome offered by Beatrice and Cyril - a charming couple. Additionally the rustic and utterly quiet location of the old farmhouse makes it an attractive place to stay. Our room (Epice/ Red Room) was, we believe, one of the smallest of the four, simply furnished and somewhat hot with only a skylight rather than a window. A fan helped. The bathroom was inevitably small, but the shower cubicle and faucets was better than you often get in even expensive hotels.
Cyril - a chef in a former life - provides much home cooked produce. I wasn't well on the night of arrival so unfortunatley we didn't eat at the house, but his carefully prepared breakfast, taken in the sunny garden, was just lovely - fresh breads, yoghurt, waffles etc. Both he and Beatrice went out of their way to ask us of our tourist plans for the day and gave us much useful advice as well as brochures to ensure we made the most of visiting this lovely region. The heated pool is in a secluded part of the garden. There's a jacuzzi too! Highly recommended as a Bed and Breakfast experience
The mattress was quite firm and as the room was quite airless after a hot weather day, sleeping was a bit disturbed.
