We stayed at Chalet des Glaciers for 10 nights and, overall, really enjoyed our stay.
The location is probably its biggest strength. It’s in a lovely, quiet part of Chamonix, and around a 20–30 minute walk will take you into the centre. We barely needed the car: you can leave it in the private parking and walk to the boulangerie, into town, or to most of the local restaurants and entertainment.
The chalet itself is very spacious, particularly compared with many others we have stayed in around Chamonix. However, space doesn’t necessarily translate into comfort. The walls are quite thin, so there isn’t much privacy between rooms, and the mezzanine bedroom has very limited headroom. Unless you’re quite short, it isn’t particularly comfortable.
Nothing was fundamentally wrong, but considering the price, I think the chalet could offer a little more in terms of comfort and refinement. We have stayed in several smaller chalets in the area that felt considerably cosier and better thought out.
That said, the location is excellent, the chalet has plenty of character and space, and the owners are a genuinely wonderful couple: friendly, welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay.
Would we stay again? For the location and the owners, absolutely. With a few improvements to the comfort, it could be a really exceptional place.
At this price point, I think it’s reasonable to expect a strong and reliable internet connection.
Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was probably the biggest weakness of the chalet. We had to perform a few gymnastics to get a usable signal, and although the owners genuinely tried their best to help us, the current setup simply isn’t adequate. The chalet really needs its own dedicated router rather than relying on a Wi-Fi signal amplifier.
If you need to work during your stay, stream TV, or simply keep the kids entertained online, this is something to bear in mind. We ended up relying heavily on mobile data and roaming, which can become expensive very quickly.
The owners couldn’t have been more helpful, so this isn’t a criticism of them at all. It’s really an infrastructure issue, and one that should be relatively straightforward to fix. With reliable Wi-Fi, it would make a significant difference to the overall experience.

Es ist ein gemütliches, sehr gut ausgestattetes Haus in guter Lage mit direktem Blick auf den Mont Blanc. Sehr bequeme Betten. Alles vorhanden, was man braucht.
Die Vermieterin spricht gut Englisch, sie war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar.
Bus und Bahn halten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Skigebiete sind gut erreichbar; im Haus gibt es einen Gut ausgestatteten Vorraum für Skier und Schuhe.
Die Köche war komplett ausgestattet und die Dekoration im Haus sehr schön.
Es war alles gut!
Lediglich das Carport war etwas eng für ein breites Auto, aber machbar.

Chalet is very traditional in style, beds are comfy and everything you need.
