The Olde Forge Hotel

Amazing Stay, lots of parking space. You enter through a little arch gate into a beautiful colourful garden full of character. Philip and Nicky were so friendly and welcoming, they took the time to chat to us and ask us about our stay. We were given all the information we needed about the hotel and the surrounding area. We went up the winding stairs to our room which was well serviced with everything we needed, ample amount of tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities with biscuits, toiletries, sweet treats and water and if we needed more of anything it was in baskets placed around the hall way. Everywhere was spotless. We then went into a Tudor style room for breakfast which was amazing, A variety of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, croissants, full fry if you wanted or eggs cooked anyway you wanted with toast. As much of a selection of juices, tea and coffee that you wanted. We have been travelling for over 30 years and have never stayed in such a welcoming hidden gem as The Olde Forge Hotel. Having to leave to stay at a Hotel at the Airport with no character. Yes big, new and modern but no friendly welcome, enough tea, coffee and milk only to do just 1 cup each, (my pet hate) no biscuit, food just average and way overpriced.

Excellent hosts who enabled us to arrive early to change before attending a wedding locally & a fabulous breakfast

Traditional environment. Lovely owners. Convenient location. Dog friendly.

Bed was rather challenging to sleep on. Too soft for our liking. Could do with some shelves above sink to put toiletries on.
