Hotel Genzianella

L'Hotel Genzianella si trova in un'ottima posizione per fare molti percorsi trekking (noi abbiamo fatto il sentiero glaciologico per vedere il Ghiacciaio dei Forni - v. foto), inoltre è proprio attaccato ad un impianto di risalita per sciare d'inverno e per salire in quota d'estate. Il personale è accogliente e gentile. La colazione è ottima con tante torte fatte in casa molto buone (torta di pere e cioccolato etc...) e anche con cibi salati. L'albergo è arredato con oggetti antichi locali (sci in legno etc...) che ci sono piaciuti molto perchè contribuiscono a creare una bella atmosfera. Rimarchevole la "Stua"(v. foto).

L'unica cosa negativa è stata la tariffa di 20 euro al giorno per il nostro cagnolino, (che non sporca ed è abituato a stare in casa), che sinceramente mi è sembrata eccessiva. In altri hotel in genere viene chiesta una cifra simile per l'intero soggiorno.

L'atmosfera calda e accogliente della struttura, in stile tipico rustico montano e con un sacco di vecchie suppellettili: sembra quasi una baita o un rifugio. L'ottima colazione con tanti prodotti locali L'accoglienza genuina ed i consigli di Stefano

Nonostante fosse fine agosto, la camera era un po' freddina

The ski room and location, that was about it really. It’s has so much potential though. Close to main ski lift, supermarket next door worth stocking up on wine drinks snacks.

Old fashioned, noisy Italian school kids screaming down corridors, acting like they owned place, moving my families skis to another room without asking. Hotel owner telling me to park in car park under hotel saying it’s free then trying to charge me for it at the end, adding tourist tax to my bill when I had already paid on bookings.com, adding drinks to my bill that we’d not had, all in all total 205 euros was sneaked onto my bill. In fairnesses when I pointed them out there was no argument and he removed but it’s not the point is it people may not notice. Restaurant was not suitable for kids, I expect to come to Italy and have lasagna pizza cannelloni all home made, and chips at least for my little ones but set in ways and would not alter a set menu of 20 euros each, we ate out every night which was not planned after first night bad experience. There are brilliant restaurants in town such as the pizzeria wood oven baked for 8 euros a head. Such a shame as the hotel has so much potential. Breakfast was acceptable though. Bar was empty and no atmosphere, so bar centro made up for that. Would not recommend staying other than right next to Santa caterinas main lift.
