Hotel Falun is a simple, fairly basic place whose principal selling points are its location and its staff: you are a short walking distance away from the town centre here, and we really appreciated the friendly face at reception who helped us with finding a perfect parking spot and somewhere nice to have dinner. If your focus is mostly on functionality, rather than decor, amenities and masses of space, you should be perfectly happy here.
The building is an almost entirely character-free zone that could probably do with a bit of a general renovation/rejuvenation job: everything works, but everything also looks a little tired and dated and, considering how interesting and rich in history Falun is, a little under-valued.

Very central and easy to access. The parking is not included but they enable you to pay less than regular price which is highly appreciated. The breakfast was very good.
The room was a little small for 2 people and 2 suitcases but overall very comfortable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to change our reservations around and they were very accommodating. The facilities were cute and quaint and centrally located to several places we were going. Breakfast was great. Would recommend this place if you find yourself in this little town.
Nothing. No refrigerator in the room, but the staff kept our bag in the kitchen for us.

Located right near all of the things in city center, yet very quiet at night. Beds were quite comfortable and room very spacious. Wifi strong and breakfast choices nicely varied. You can have afternoon tea or coffee, which is nice.
It did not feel dirty, but it also did not feel very clean. Lots of dust in the room, especially in the seams of the chair and padded shelf near closet area. Our friend had a kettle in her room, but we did not. The walls need a fresh coat of paint. The heat was far too warm both in the rooms and in the lobby (maybe this is a trend in many Swedish places?). Price was too high compared to what you get - might as well spend a little more and get a whole lot more at the Grand Hotel across the street.
