SEAPLANE CONNECTION The fastest option is to fly to Split airport and then take a seaplane from Split Downtown to Vela Luka (16 minutes trip). FERRY CONNECTION There are also regular ferry services between Split and Vela Luka or from Dubrovnik to Korcula town. a) Flying to Split: a car ferry from Split to Vela Luka goes twice a day, it takes about 2.5 hours to get to Vela Luka (Korcula). b) Flying to Dubrovnik: if you choose to fly to beautiful, medieval Dubrovnik you can drive to Orebic town (on the Peljesac peninsula), where the local ferry to Korcula goes every 30 minutes. It takes only 15 minutes to cross from Orebic to Domince port (Korcula). The Split option is easier, but Dubrovnik is a more scenic trip. Once you arrive to Vela Luka, Villa Katy is only a short 15 minute drive from the town centre. The town of Korcula is well known for Moreska – a traditional sword dance and drama that was common through out the Mediterranean in 12th and 13th century, reaching Korcula in 16th century from Italy and Dubrovnik. The golden period for Korcula was between the 13th and 15th centuries, when the old town's present form was acquired through the construction of important buildings; most of these can still be seen today.
