About this cottage rental
Nestled in Godshill, this attractive cottage for $187 per night is a great option for your next break. A charming detached home in a rural setting in Sandford near Godshill, providing spacious and comfortable accommodation. Shanklin and Ventnor are within easy reach for a family day on the beach and Woodside is near several footpaths for those who enjoy the countryside. The large enclosed garden with lawn, shrubs and trees is a tranquil escape after a busy day. There is a patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. To the front of the property is ample off street parking for 2-3 cars. The ground floor accommodation comprises double bedroom with cot, twin bedroom and family bathroom with shower over bath. The cosy lounge, dining room and conservatory all look over the garden and the well equipped kitchen has French doors leading onto the garden. There is a utility room and also a separate cloakroom WC. The master suite on the first floor comprises double bedroom with en-suite wetroom shower and WC. Guests will enjoy lovely views from this peaceful retreat. The popular village of Godshill is very close by and has charming thatched roofed cottages and winding main street with a variety of tea rooms, gift shops offering local craft and produce, model village and public house. Sandford is centrally situated between Newport and Shanklin and also within easy reach of Ventnor, making an ideal base to explore the surrounding Island. For families the popular resort of Shanklin is a short drive away and provides a variety of shops, supermarket, banks and eating places. To the south of the High Street lies the picturesque thatched Old Village with its pubs, tearooms and gift shops. Near to the Old Village is Shanklin Chine, a natural wooded gorge, and Rylstone Gardens, a relaxing park with crazy golf and tea gardens in a flower filled setting. The long safe sandy beach is on a lower level. One can walk, use the lift or drive down from town to seafront. Coastal paths make for scenic walking to neighbouring Sandown or to the pretty village of Bonchurch through the winding paths of the landslip, in the other direction. The Island has many other attractions for families with a variety of beaches, cycleways and footpaths, leisure centres and golf courses. Entertainment and eating places are varied.

Our 7th visit and another excellent stay at this amazing property. Good bus links at the end of the road to all parts of the island. Lots of walking from the door. The cottage as always was very well presented and equipped with everything needed. Even with inclement weather a nice relaxing break in a home from home cottage. Look forward to returning.

The cottage is in a very good position with bus links to all parts of the island 2 minutes walk away. There is everything you need to make this a perfect home from home.

Everything as always in perfect order and lovingly maintained. Not so much staying in a holiday cottage as staying in a family home. Ideally placed for visiting all parts of the island and best part is returning to enjoy the cottage and garden. Thank you for another excellent stay.

Beautiful cottage and garden, we could relax. The children liked the garden toys, and our youngest loved the tree house. It had everything we needed and more. Also had lots of space. It was close to lots of attractions, all within 10 to 20 mins!

Woodside Cottage
We have stayed at Woodside on four occasion and already
booked again . The cottage is in excellent decorative order and very clean and comfortable. It is well sited with no need for a car and lots of good walking from the door. Large garden lovely to sit out in. Exceptional service from Island Holiday Homes.

Amazing cottage !!
We have been going to Woodside cottage for the past 5 years, and we love it there, it has everything you need. You dont have any worries when staying here you can get to everywhere you need to go daily perfect cottage in the perfect location.
Unfortunately we have a couple of pups now, and due to a very bad experience with one of the kennels on the island we wont be able to come again unless we find a top class kennel to look after them. Our Inlaws will be back though you can count on them !!

A Delightful Stay
Property was extremely well presented and clean, felt very homely in every respect. Kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Large garden was especially nice for our two young boys (although we spent most days exploring the island). Only slight negatives, one sofa was extremely uncomfortable (sofa bed) and the location is approx. 1 mile outside of Godshill with no pathway on the main road to the village so had to use the car always. Overall a fantastic place to stay, great value and would return again in the future.

Another wonderful holiday at Woodside cottage
This was our third visit to Woodside cottage and it did not disappoint. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and clean and the garden is a lovely place to spend time when returning from a day out, it has lots of added extras to keep the children amused.
This property is very well situated for reaching everywhere on the island easily.
Would highly recommend it and will return if we can, next time we visit the Isle of Wight.

Woodside cottage is a great place to go and visit,great location but also nice and quiet as well.The garden is perfect for kids who are never tired(lol).Close to major attractions and never to far away for a visit.Very comfortable and nicely set out.Owner is a very nice man also.

A delightful 3 bedroom property
When we saw this property whilst looking through the website it was ideal for what we needed and it looked lovely, on arriving at the property it was even better in the flesh just superb.
The cottage is in a lovely position very quiet, there's a pretty village just down the road 5 mins by car with some lovely coffee shops ,pub etc.
The bedroom upstairs was just fabulous very nice and loved the bathroom too.
We found Woodside Cottage very spacious, very comfortable and with all the amenities you have here including the lovely garden which the grandchildren loved its all you need for a wonderful and delightful stay.

A fantastic, safe, summer stay with children
We have just returned from a superb stay at Woodside cottage. We absolutely loved the property - the photos don't give the space you have justice. The property was immaculately clean (important at the moment) and well equipped and it is on a nice quiet country road with easy access to the centre of Godshill, but also Shanklin, Ventnor and everywhere else on the island. The agency and the owner could not have been more accommodating to our needs with small children.
The beds are comfortable, the sofas are too. The garden has a wonderful treehouse, as well as a badminton set, a table tennis table, and lots of garden furniture. We have stayed in 3 properties on the Isle of Wight over the past 4 years and this was by far our favourite.
We will definitely be returning.

Getaway
Very good holiday property with large garden. Good outside seating. Rather a narrow approach road and nasty turn out right, at the end. Good position on the Island for reaching other areas.
Nicely appointed rooms with comfortable seating. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Another wonderful holiday at Woodside cottage
This is the second time we have stayed at Woodside cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property has everything you could need and even though some things had been removed due to the pandemic it didn't spoil our stay. The conservatory was a great hit, we loved sitting in there with the doors open looking out onto the lovely garden, which we spent lots of time enjoying with our grandson. He especially loved the tree house.
This cottage is situated in a great location for exploring the island.
If ever we come back to the IOW we will definitely book again.

Lovely stay
We recently had a super stay at this very clean, family friendly house - as a family of four, with grandparents in tow. Super set up for us, with a great garden, good parking. Very comfortable spacious house.

3rd time here and already booked next year !!
This was a the long awaited break we needed due to COVID pandemic. Woodside Cottage is is such a beautiful place to come its everything we need and more especially being on the Isle of wight !! We cant fault the property it has a beautiful garden and tree house which my little one loved and the weather was just perfect. The new patio and conservatory just finish the cottage off lovely.
Cant wait to return just hope we can get out and about next time and enjoy the island more when we come back in June next year.

A lovely place to stay
We had a lovely break at Woodside Cottage and would definitely stay there again. It was particularly good for families with lots of space in the living room & conservatory and a lovely big garden. The tree house and slide were very popular! Amenities were of a good standard with a well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Beds were comfortable and the upstairs bedroom and en-suite was very nice. We could see that there would normally be games, books etc. available but due to COVID-19 these items had to be removed but this didn't detract from our stay. The Cottage is in a good central location, so easy to get to attractions and not too far from a beach. A good time was had by all.

Beautiful accommodation
From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the cottage. Well kept and extremely well equipped. The cottage was very clean with all beds made up ready. The only thing it doesn’t have is wi-do, if this was added it would be perfect. Have recommended to friends and would stay there again

Almost perfect
An excellent spacious cottage for a week babysitting our grandchildren. Lovely garden and the cottage contained everything we needed. My only criticisms are that we did not find the settees very comfortable and that the beds (particularly single) were also not very comfortable.

Lovely accommodation
Woodside was a lovely place to stay, it was clean and comfortable and the garden was brilliant, there were lots of extras for the children which we appreciated. It is situated in a very convenient place for exploring the island and if we were to return to that area we would certainly consider booking it again.

Tired property
Very disingenuous the overall stated of the property, the whole place with the exception of the loft room needs a lick of paint, the garden furniture needs replacing as rust is coming through on all chairs ,the patio needs a complete make over as grass is growing thought paving slabs plus some need re pointing, the local agents did offer to rectify but this should have all been done before our arrival

7 day break
Absoultely fantastic this was our 2nd stay at woodside and weve booked next year already. What can I say its a beautiful place to stay its home from home, my daughters loved the garden we didnt want to go home. I think we will be back every year we just cant knock anything about it ! Would like to make a suggestion maybe offer a 10 day break aswell as we would jump at the chance !!

Lovely peaceful stay
Woodside Cottage is a lovely place to stay, peaceful and with everything you need and more. We had a really relaxing week, helped by the excellent weather. We visited Newtown, and various coastal areas and everything was easy to get to.
We hope to be back.

Cottage and garden are lovely. Shame the lane outside the property is single track which makes getting in and out of the drive very tricky.

Amazing cottage !!! Already booked next year, can’t wsit to go back
Only one suggestion just make sure the contracted cleaners put out clean towels the towels we had left didn’t smell clean, it’s like they had been used and left to dry so had to rewash them all, wasn’t an issue and certainly didn’t put a dampener on our holiday hence why we’ve booked again !
