Unfortunately, the room felt quite outdated and was not maintained to the standard we expected. The decorative bed cover was visibly dirty, and the curtains were not hung properly and smelled strongly of dust. There were also not enough electrical sockets in the room.
There were no drinking glasses provided—only two plastic cups in the bathroom, which did not appear to be clean. There was no complimentary water and no tea or coffee-making facilities in the bedroom.
More concerning was our request for feather-free bedding due to a severe allergy. We had specifically requested this in advance and were reassured at check-in that the bedding was feather-free. However, when we went to bed, we discovered a large feather pillow on the bed. Given that this was a health-related request that had been clearly communicated and confirmed, this was particularly concerning.
The hotel offered us a complimentary breakfast as an apology. The breakfast was perfectly fine and we appreciated the gesture, but unfortunately it did not make up for the seriousness of overlooking a severe allergy, particularly after we had been assured that our request had been taken care of.
Overall, the room would benefit from updating, more careful cleaning and, most importantly, greater attention to guests' health-related requirements.
