The location and the atmosphere at the Hotel Amadeus were both fantastic. It's on a picturesque street in Sevilla and the decor makes it feel both luxurious and unique. Having a pool in the hot months was very welcomed and the reason I booked the hotel. The breakfast was filling and not like a buffet, but with lovely service in their nice dining sitting area. I quite enjoyed that.
There were some quirks - my key didn't work the first time and I had to go downstairs for a refresh on the keycard. Not terrible. There are not enough shady spots to lounge in adjacent to the pool.
I had them hold my luggage which was useful, but when I went back for my bags at the front desk, it was as if the hotel front desk clerk didn't hear me - I just stood there after asking. I had to go ask someone else. She didn't look up from her computer/phone while I was standing there.

A beautifully decorated hotel dedicated to Mozart. Classical music instruments and paraphernalia on every level. Even if you are not a music enthusiast this is intriguing. Staff were excellent very helpful and friendly.
The first surprise was when our taxi dropped us off. After travelling down very narrow streets to get there. We stopped at the end of a very narrow alleyway and the driver pointed to our hotel door a few meters down the alleyway. However this is how it is in Seville, so when we got used to it, it was all ok.

Location was excellent - it was a short walk to the cathedral and the other main sites. The roof terrace has a bar and is a relaxing setting for a late afternoon drink. The communal areas on the ground floor are finished to a high standard
The pool is advertised as being heated, but when we checked, the water was cold. Reception told us that it had been so hot they'd turned off the heating but they turned it back on when we asked them. We had been in the area for ten days previously and it had been max 25 degrees.
The room was very tired - the floors were scratched and there were marks on the bottom of the bath. The bath was cheap and creaked when you stood in it even though I am a slim person. There was no shower screen so the floor of the bathroom got wet every time we showered.
Due to a booking.com error in displaying our family size, the hotel did not know we had a baby with us for our standard room. We had our own travel cot and did not need anything from the hotel except a towel, but we felt like we were an inconvenience as they felt the room wasn’t big enough for our baby to be there. They even had to check to see if we could still stay. Luckily everything was fine and our ten month old baby did indeed fit.
Overall we were looking for a touch of luxury and the photos suggested we had chosen a good place. Instead we were disappointed and felt ripped off.
