Location was super! The pool area fabulous, free wine tasting on the property, food was very good, and it was pet friendly. Even though I didn’t have my dogs, other people did, and I loved it!
The bed was very hard. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor.

We looked at three rooms before selecting a room on the top floor under the eaves (tip toe views). It is important to note that there are MANY different room types within each category. There are old and new sections of the hotel with views facing many different directions. It appeared that no two rooms were alike.
Staff was gracious and helpful. The property is spotless.
The first room we were shown was spacious with two balconies, however the bathroom window faced the pool and had only a sheer window covering (which would have offered no privacy after sundown with the lights turned on). The second room offered faced the lake with a balcony, however it looked directly onto the ticket tour boat office, rather than out over the lake. Again, we declined this room. The final room was not what we expected, but ultimately suited our needs.

The friendliness and service offered by the hotel staff. The excellent view of the lake, and the ease of travel by boat to Luino, Cannobio and everywhere else.
The standard of cleanliness in the room left a little to be desired: towels were changed daily and the bed received a cursory makeover, but that was it. We were obliged to eat our meals indoors, and not on the adjoining terrace, due to the fact that the hotel had not designated that beautiful area as non-smoking, and that there were many inconsiderate guests who insisted on smoking while others ate their meals. The quality and range of the buffet breakfast was generally very good, but the behaviour of guests fighting to grab food and drink made the experience similar to that of a rugby scrum. Totally unacceptable. Throughout, the staff were splendid in trying to meet demand, despite the ill-tempered behaviour of some guests. Finally, the mattress and pillows need renewing - uncomfortable.
