1st host has great communication and stocks the house and kitchen incredibly well. Very clean. Loved sitting on the deck through the evening watching water loons kayakers. Very peaceful and surprisingly no mosquitoes our stay the last week of July. 4 generations of family had room to spread out , relax, and enjoy. Family would stay there again if we make it back to Maine.

We returned to this property this year after spending a week last year. The house is very updated with a great kitchen, plenty of space, and a great view of the pond. It's so nice to have access to the kayaks and canoes. Thanks for a great time!

We six adults lived our stay. The house is clean, well stocked (and with quality amenities, particularly important in the kitchen!), and roomy. The pond is peaceful with fun activities. Perfect stay.

An absolutely wonderful place. Tucked away nicely, but still very close to everything - shopping, hiking, lobsters (Rockport Lobster), eating, all of what mid-coast has to offer. But the view in the mornings and the evenings is unbeatable! We often found ourselves sitting out back instead of getting ready for the day's events. The pix don't even begin to show how beautiful it is. Tia was great - extremely responsive. The house is great - very clean and organized. Without a doubt we will definitely try to return.

Our state was fantastic. There was plenty of space. We were very impressed by the property with a well-stocked kitchen and tools to cook and grill very clean rooms. Great bathrooms.

Beautiful house on a peaceful pond. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck watching the sun rise over the mountains, and then viewing the bright stars at night.
Would highly recommend!

Our favorite time here was each night when we would build a fire in the fireplace, sip a glass of wine and gaze at the water before the sun went down.
This house was very quiet and comfortable with good beds. The kitchen was well-stocked and easy to cook in. The Hannaford’s Grocery was nearby and also an organic vegetable stand with the best tomatoes.
One afternoon we came home to find two deer in the front yard enjoying the apples from the trees. We drove right by them and they never flinched, just kept eating.
I do hope we get to come back!

The property is amazing offering both waterfront and mountain views. We saw loons, beavers, deer, and even fish jumping in the morning. It's a great quiet location and it's only 10 minutes from downtown Camden.

This is a lovely and spacious house located directly on Hosmer Pond. Listen to the loons at night and take a quiet canoe or kayak around the lake. Very peaceful and relaxing and yet near all of the beautiful sights and sounds of Camden. Camden offers great dining, lovely in-town shops and so much more. Plenty of room for six adults to stay comfortably.

Wonderful in every way
My family has rented several properties in the area from VRBO over the past few years, and this was definitely the best. The pictures really don’t do the house justice - it’s beautiful inside, modern yet cozy at the same time. It was well-equipped with everything we needed. The location on Hosmer Pond is peaceful, with gorgeous views, and it’s close to Camden, Rockport, and Rockland. Tia was exceptionally responsive and easy to work with. I’d rent again in a heartbeat.

Visit to Maine
We enjoyed our visit to Maine. Went to Bay Harbor, Booth Bay, the Ocean, and visited other interesting places. Thank you for having the house well stocked with all the amenities and finishing touches that made us feel right at home. We would come back again.

The house itself was spacious and clean. We were surprised to note that there is an additional rental cottage with which we shared the yard. The yard was not usable, in any event, because of the geese excrement all over. The kayaks, canoe and inflatables were welcome because there is no beach for swimming.
5.0
The house on Hosmer Pond met all our expectations: it is large, modern, nicely decorated and with a well equipped kitchen. The house sits directly on the shore and has wonderful views of the water and the mountains beyond. Tia supplies kayaks which we used in addition to our own. The location is also excellent for mountain biking as the Ragged Mountain trails are close by and the house is a short drive to Camden and Rockland.

The home and location was awesome! Sitting by the lake was so peaceful. We had seven of us and had plenty of room. Took trips to Camden and Bar Harbor. Arcadia was beautiful. Caught a six pound bass in the lake a few feet feet from shore.

Beautiful house.
This rental is on a scenic pond with loons, a blue heron, glimpses of deer and a fox.
Also geese that left their plentiful fowling in the area meant for access into the water. Our two teenagers could not go into the pond. I called the manager and she
Thought she could help but never did.
No other problems.

I wish we could have "extended" the vacation itself. The ages of our family ranged from 15 to 79 and we all had a great time. My son, his wife, and daughter enjoyed the rugged mountain bike trails near by. We all enjoyed paddling on the lake with house kayaks and paddle boards which we brought up. The kayaks that came with the house were in pristine condition. Everybody loved the loons, the geese, the beaver, and the croaking frogs. We even paddled over to the Snow Bowl and played Pickle Ball on one of their tennis courts! And of course. the house was very elegant and comfortable! It was a memorable vacation!

Wonderful family getaway
George has a fantastic place for a family to stay and getaway from it all. You could not be closer to the water. The setting is so relaxing. You can hear the loons, we saw deer, lots of other wildlife. The guys caught fish in the pond. We had great dinners in town and explored Rockland, Rockport and beyond. Lots of room for family (2 adults and 2 kids) plus two grandparents to spread out and everyone to have their own space. Everything you need and then some. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We even brought our dog!!

Maine at its best!
House and property were perfect for our needs. Location convenient to many towns and attractions. The pond provided relation, swimming, fishing, and boating. Views were breathtaking with moon rising on one end and sun setting on the other. The house was equipped with all the comforts of home, and our family enjoyed a memorable trip to Maine. Will definitely return.

Great trip....Great house....Great owners!!!
This is the second year we stayed in George's house on Hosmer Pond. It was wonderful like last year. The house is clean and new. The location is spectacular. It is right on the pond. The house comes with two kayaks available for use. George and Tia (his sister) were available for questions if needed. It could not have been better.

We had the most wonderful time. The owner, George, couldn't be more agreeable and helpful.
This was the first time we ever rented a vacation home. I would do it again in a heartbeat, especially if the home was owned by someone as nice as this owner.

Definitely not a gem
If it wasn't for some glaring issues, we would have given this property four stars. The setting is beautiful and the view from inside the house is wonderful. There is a ton of space - plenty for 8-10 people without feeling crammed. It is really close to Camden proper, groceries, restaurants, etc.
Unfortunately, there were some major disappointments for us. First, the owner advertises his house as having air conditioning. That is absolutely ridiculous. The house is huge with two floors and there are only two tiny room air conditioners in 2 of the 4 bedrooms. The other two bedrooms have no AC. Moreover, the entire living area of the house is totally unairconditioned. It was in 80-100 degrees outside all week and over 80 degrees and humid inside. We looked at a ton of houses and there were other houses just as nice WITH AIR CONDITIONING for the same price.
On top of that, we asked the owner if we could bring 2 extra people so that our friends and us could both bring our 3-6 year old kids. He charged us an additional $500 just for the two extra people over 8. What did we get for this? Absolutely nothing. There wasn't enough toilet paper or paper towels. We had to buy more. He didn't put an AC unit in the other rooms. No inflatable mattress for the extra people.
A few other less major items were also not nearly as nice as we've experienced in other rentals. First, this house is on a pond. That is the point of staying at this house. And yet there are only a couple kayaks and a canoe. There were no other water toys for the kids. Usually there are boogie boards, stand up paddle boards, inflatables, water platforms, etc.
The house is horribly provisioned. There are virtually no basic necessities like seasonings, soap, shampoo, etc. We had to buy everything we needed.
The water downstairs smells horrible (which includes both the water in the laundry, the kitchen and the extra bathroom). We kept the door closed to the bathroom, bought water to drink and used a lot of dryer sheets. Not really the relaxing setting we had envisioned.
So, our recommendation: if you are traveling with only 2-4 people who will stay in just 2 bedrooms, this is pretty good but expensive for what you get. If you have any more than 2-4 people, you can probably do way better somewhere else.

Exceptionally well fitted out with all modern technology and appliances
Right on the waterside of Pond. Pair of Loons on water each day, deer on front lawn at dusk. All applicances we used were in good working order, chairs and sofa really comfortable. Outside grille fire and sitting area.
Really enjoyed our stay.

Hidden GEM on a perfect pond centrally located near everything!
Wow was our initial impression upon arriving at the house. We had 2 families totaling 7 people and it was fully accommodating to all. The layout of the house was perfect for everyone with plenty of room to gather in the kitchen, living room, man cave, including patio and deck. The house being right on the pond made the view continuously breathtaking at every point in the day. Kayaks provided along with Canoe was perfect for fishing anytime during the day. Everyone caught fish from perch to small and large mouth bass (just use rubber worms). Again, the house was just perfect, but I have to mention it’s location in ref to Camden as we were 10 minutes from everything. Golf courses were around 10 minutes each (goose river and rockland), Camden downtown (awesome small town), Rockland Lobster Fest, Camden Hills Park and the Snow Bowl ski park (you could kayak to this as they had rides to the top one day we were there). If you venture further like we did, Acadia and Bar Harbor are about 2 hours away. I highly suggest taking this trek as you won’t be disappointed. We hope to visit this exact house again someday in the future as our vacation was just perfect. Thank you to the owners for sharing such a gem! The Kiraly and Husted families.

Was a great visit!! House was very clean and welcoming. The location is great!! It was also very nice in that they had kayaks that we could use. Could not thank George enough for a wonderful trip and sharing his house with us. Location is right on the pond and also is close to Camden.
