The hostel is in a very good location near the Damascus Gate. Grocery stores, a bakery and street food are right outside the door
The room was very dingy, there were streaks of dirt on the walls and the bathroom didn't even have a shower head holder.
The room had no air conditioning, which makes the air extremely stuffy.
The owner was very aggressive and shouted at my criticism.

I liked the people! Ali was great, the location is beside the bus station, places to eat all around, pharmacy a few doors down, hospital around the corner, the Garden Tomb around the corner and the Damascus Gate is across the street. The hostel has character!
The property is great.

The location
I arrived more early that the Chek In hour, so the guy told me that i had to pay more if i want to wait in the common área. That put me furious and i leaved to wait on street. The next day the owner apologiste with me for de behavior of his employed, but it was really a bad expirience

The location of the hotel was very nice as it was within walking distance of the mosque.
Kitchen utensils were dirty and the kitchen smelled a bit bad. Also, the refrigerator in the kitchen was not working.

Location is perfect! Just next to the Damscus gate.
Old building, room was old dated…no soap, no towels and no shampoo provided…guy from reception can smile more but he let me check in 3 hours earlier

We really liked the location of the hostel (close to the city center), the internet is fast and stable, the beds were comfortable, the room was not facing the street so it was quite peaceful, and the staff was helpful, fun, and kind. This is the perfect place if you are going to be outside for most of the day, you are staying only a couple of days, and if you don't mind certain weird arrangements in the room.
The street were the hostel is located is quite noisy and smelly, we were lucky we weren't facing the street, but I can't imagine being able to rest if you have a room in the front side of the hotel. The room was a bit small for three people and the bathroom was lacking a proper shower (it doesn't have a proper shower, the head shower is there but everything gets wet and you have to dry it if you plan on using it later) and proper ventilation (you can start smelling the humidity after a couple of days). I think that adding some simple things: some kind of shower curtain at least between the toilet or the door, some properly located power sockets, etc. would make the stay more comfy.

It is a nice option if one is travelling on a budget, you can stay here for one month for the same price that of a week in a reasonably priced hotel in the same area. It can be ok living in a dormitory and meet different people, which almost always are quite nice company.
It is in a very genuine arabic area, fresh produce, meat, poultry, fish and bread are available within 50 meter range. Damascus gate is right across the street.
Casual and relaxed atmosphere
Small things like a non functioning fridge and a broken cooking plate could have been fixed. Also If one is very sensitive to tobacco you might react to occational passive smoke.

Compared to the price very good. Nice communication to other guests.

The accommodation offers great value for money. The staff is extremely welcoming and always willing to help. All my wishes regarding additional requirements (extra blankets, extra towels) were met. Coffee and tea are always available, the location is ideal for exploring both the old city and the new city center. However, you should know that this is a budget accommodation, however they really try to make the experience as good as possible. My goal was to have my own room with private bathroom in a good location for as little money as possible and this was definitely met. If you are looking for something similar, I would definitely recommend it.
No bad experiences. Once again, I would stress that you should look at the photos and read what they actually offer, so that there are no unnecessary disappointments.

Great location, next to the Damascus Gate. Helpful very kind stuff, very comfortable bed. We booked a room for 2 person, because we sleep with our baby, but they gave us a 3 beded room, with a bed just beside the twinbed, to make it more comfortable to us. There was a heater in the room, so we had warm nights, despite January.
The bathroom would need a renovation. We could not look out of the window, as there was a wall in front of it, and a light came from narrow line in the level of the floor. We were in the city all day, so it did not disturbed us at the end, just surprised us at the begginig.

The location is ideal, having the Old City in a 5 minutes walk, 3 important bus stations nearby, many traditional Arab restaurants around and many other advantages. Rooms are small, but cozy. Staff is friendly and nice.
Some toiletries should be provided.

The building is made of old stone and quite beautiful.
The location is okay if you want to be close to the old city, but its not a nice street.
The kitchen was disgusting, it smelt like rotting meat. The fridge didn't work, the cooker hardly worked, and even basic things like oil was missing.
The room was fine, but the beds are very small, both thinner and shorter than a normal single bed.
I was woken up many times in the night by the noise of the road and the bright street lights.
Actually it is noisy 24/7 from the bus station across the road.
I wouldn't t recommended this place, there are better options in the old city. But if you're desperate...

Great location
No hot water, no clean sheets, personal items from a previous guest still in the bed.

It's location is excellent and the bed was
comfortable... and that is important because you want to rest at night and not pay a lot of money for transportation
The passages are very clean but the rooms are not that clean
A negative point was that our bathroom door cannot close and as we were not a couple, just friends it was not comfortable for us

The Hostel is very good value for money. It's a hostel so don't expecting Hilton conditions. It's just by the bus station so you have very good connections to everywhere. There are lots of shops around with good food and fruit with better prices than inside the old city walls. The bed was comfy and we got a clean room with a balcony towards the old city. The view was stunning. We'll return to this place next year.
