The view of the beach was spectacular, the pool small but pleasant and a space next to the pol with hammocks a treat in the heat of the afternoon. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate. It was a comfortable but basic room and well worth the money.
The stairs (lots of them) were unusually steep, the air conditioning too loud to leave on. There was only one overhead lightbulb in the room and one small bedside table, though this is more the norm than the exception in Ecuador. Only one of the three outlets in the room worked and that was in the bathroom. Charging phones and a laptop was a nightmare and proved a disaster as a tropical downpour entered through the tiny bathroom window, soaked all three and nearly ruined two of them. My fault, really, but entirely avoidable by having other outlets available.
