We absolutely loved the location of Castagnola, away from the busyness of the town but an easy walk or bus ride in. The property is one street up from the lake with a gorgeous view from the garden terrace. It was amazingly quiet and peaceful. There is a trail along the lake that we walked every day, with lovely swimming spots. Olga and Bernhard were very gracious and helpful hosts. The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable with a big bed and modern bathroom. We appreciated having access to a washing machine. We look forward to coming back!

The property was refurbished recently so it looked pretty good. The garden and the view are really nice (it does seem to be a shared garden tough)
I believe the 5 star rating on booking is a little misleading- when you have a single soap to share between the shower and sink, when there is no cleaning service for 5 days...I would not call this 5 star. This is not the first time when booking.com is overly generous with the ratings
Also in the mornings it was quite noisy from upstairs.
You should do yourself a favor and spend some extra and stay at a proper 5 star hotel.
