Sehr große Bett, Matratze ohne Liegemulde, sehr herzliche Inhaber - sie sind das beste an der Unterkunft, außerordentliche Englisch Kenntnisse des inhabers, sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück, toller Ausblick von der Terrasse, perfekte Lage zum Durban square, restaurants in der nähe, nachts ruhig von 23-6 Uhr (Davor typischer lärm wir wirklich überall in Kathmandu)
Nässe vom Teich vor der Tür und aus dem Badezimmer zieht ins Zimmer und macht es klamm, feucht und kalt. Keine automatische Lüftung. Die Klimaanlage und Fenster öffnen reichen leider nicht aus, um das Zimmer trocken und warm zu halten. Es bleibt dauerhaft leicht feucht, egal was Sie tun. Aber der Inhaber sorgte aber für Heizdecken sodass wir dennoch warm schlafen konnten und zufrieden waren. Ich empfehle daher eher im Sommer oder Frühling zu reisen, wenn sie nicht frieren wollen. Oder buchen sie ein kleineres Zimmer, welches nicht zum Teich zeigt und einen Abzug im Bad hat (zb. Zimmer A-42 - dieses ist auch tagsüber ruhiger)

The breakfast was amazing. I was served a different a different breakfast for each of my five mornings at Tajaa Pha, each one being tasty and unique. It was a two-course breakfast with coffee and yoghurt/granola/fruit followed by a main course, eggs, bread and a variety of Nepali dishes. I especially liked the aloo parathas. Great coffee, too!

Charming boutique hotel in the heart of Patan. The family who runs it made me feel welcome and cared for. The excellent and fresh homemade breakfast is different each day!

Friendly owner on arrival. I came on a work trip and stayed here as office nearby. The room was very nice, spacious, overlooking a small water area and temple, so very pleasant.

The location is fabulous, very safe and quieter than Thamel. It's close to the taxi site so you can move to Kathmandu for a reasonable price and get there in a few minutes. The family who owns it are very helpful.
The place looks a bit better in the pics and they clean it only superficially, but for the price I think it is ok.

Friendly staff, large room, beautiful roof area.
No hot water either night. it was less than lukewarm. It is Nepal, but a bigger hotel would have had hot water. They “fixed” it but it was barely warmer.

I really like the rooms due to the beds being so comfortable. Also the host is really nice and can give you some history and recommendations around the surrounding area.

The location is wonderful, overlooking the pond and in a good location to explore Patan.
The doors were locked on arrival so we had to wait a few minutes before someone let us inside. Reception area was very dusty and the rooms smelt quite musty.

We stayed 3 nights in this home, we loved everything. The room was very spacious comfortable and very well equipped. Good powerful shower and the breakfast in the terrace was excellent. Wifi works very well too.
Shailendra receives you with a big smile and he can help with whatever you might need. Everyone was so nice and kind. We were very happy with the choice of location as it is a beautiful square and very calm. Short walk to Patan Darbar Square and easy taxi ride to Kathmandu and all the sights. We highly recommend this place and we hope to be back very soon!

it was our first time in Nepal and we felt like if we were at home ! Shailendra was very caring and take really good care of us ! always smiling, with good tips and recommandation to explore Kathmandu, what no to miss etc…
The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, with the view right on the pond ! The street is calm and quiet which is really enjoyable after spending a day in the noisy and very lively city.
And the real treat is the breakfast, that you can have on the rooftop. Delicious local food, with plenty of savor, perfect to start your day and feel fueled with a lot of energy !

This place is an outstanding find in Kathmandu! Charming traditional building with comfortable and spacious rooms. Delightful view overlooking the Pimbahal pond and Temple in an authentic Kathmandu neighborhood. Shailendra, the innkeeper, and his family provide the warmest welcome imaginable and knowledgeable help with everything during your stay. They treated us like family! Delicious breakfast on a beautiful rooftop. Do not expect luxury-- no AC, (good fans however), no elevator-- walk up to rooms. This was completely fine with me. I much prefer the guesthouse with local feel, to a modern hotel without character. Totally comfortable!

Amazing location in the heart of the historic area of Patan. Busy at daytime but amazingly quiet at night. Got an upgrade to a top floor room facing the pond which was really nice. The owner was attentive and helpful. Both local and western options for breakfast.

I can't recommend Tajaa Pha highly enough! The guesthouse is beautiful and the view of Pimbahal from the rooftop can't be beat. The rooms are spacious and clean. The shower was the best shower I had while in Nepal. Plus, the breakfast is delicious and the staff is so friendly!

The breakfast was made fresh each day by the owner or one of his family members. It consisted of coffee, fruit juice, fresh fruit, toast with butter and jam, yogurt and granola, and a combination of eggs, pancakes, sautéed potatoes and vegetables. The location is in Phimbal Square. This is a quiet little square in the middle of Patan. There is a good collection of shops and restaurants surrounding a small lake with paddle boats. Many of the rooms overlook the square and, when the skies are clear, you get a view of the mountains in the background.
It is sometimes difficult to get some of the local taxis to understand where the location is.

We came to Nepal for just a few days to secure a visa for India. As soon as we arrived at the Tajaa Pha Heritage Home, Shailendra greeted us with hot tea and some amazing stories about the property. He offered us a complimentary upgrade that we were incredibly grateful for! Our room overlooked over the stunning Pimbahal Pond. Everyday breakfast is made fresh. Sometimes it was local traditional food, other times pancakes! Breakfast is served on the rooftop patio. The patio is covered in colorful potted plants and is also home to two tortoises. The rooms were spacious with big, comfy beds, hot showers, fresh towels, soft linens, a tea kettle, hair dryer and warm lighting. We have already recommended this place to our friends and family getting ready to travel to Nepal for similar trips. Shailendra and his family are so warm and welcoming. Be ready to enjoy your stay and also learn a lot from them about the area!
If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend ear plugs. There are some neighborhood dogs that occasionally like to have a party and their barking may wake you. :)

I had a wonderful stay in Tajaa Pha!
First, it is difficult to imagine a better location in Kathmandu. The hotel is near a beautiful pond with many temples, and you can really feel an see the atmosphere of old Patan and experience culture. The property is also very quiet.
Second, the room was quite comfortable. not only by Asian, but also by Western standard. It was clean, the housekeeping lady cleaned daily.
Third, the owner is a very hospitable and kind hearted person.
Fourth, the rooms are quiet, so you can sleep really good.
Fifth, a beautiful terrace (see my photos) on the very top floor, where you can enjoy meditative mornings and evenings with a view on old Patan and also mountains.
I highly recommend this property and wish good luck to the owners.
really, can not think of something. maybe a more demanding person will be unhappy with something, but remember that you are in Kathmandu! and it is also good value for money.
