Scorpion in a very small studio with bunk bed: HORRIBLE experience

Where to start... 1/ We let the host know that we would arrive at 17:00. We got there at that time but there was nobody there to meet us. We waited for a while and started knocking on doors, only to meet other guests. I texted the host via Booking.com, but there was no response. Finally I found her telephone number and called her. The host told us her mother would come and meet us. After a while the mother showed up and let us into our apartment. The mother was a very friendly woman, but this was already a rocky start. It took us half an hour just to find someone to check in.. 2/ This apartment turned out to be a small studio with a Bunk bed, I repeat: a BUNK BED! This was not what we booked! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with renting out a small studio with a bunk bed, but nowhere in the advertisement were we told that we would pay 130 euro for a small room with a bunk bed. The site showed all beautiful and spacious rooms with great looking beds. We are in our 40's and would have NEVER booked this room if we had known. Again, there is nothing wrong with renting out a room like this, but I paid 130 euro for this! That's just wrong. A room like this should cost 80-90 euro max. My back isn't what it used to be, so we ended up taking the mattrass off the bed and putting it on the floor, where we slept. Yeah, that's right: we slept on the floor. 3/ I paid 130 euro because they charged us for a pet we don't have. Booking.com gave us back 10 euro though. Still, 120 euro is way too much money for a place like this. 4/ Our ordeal wasn't over unfortunately. When we went to "bed" and tried to sleep, we couldn't sleep because the neighbours kept the light on their terrace on. The light shined right into our studio. It lights the entire place up. They turned it off around 2 am.

5/ The advertisement promised us an electric socket near the bed. Spoiler alarm: there wasn't one. In fact, we had to look for sockets to charge our electric devices. There was one above the kitchen sink and a domino behind the couch. There were also no toiletries, even though these were promised. 6/ The shower was clogged. You had to take a shower, turn off the water, wash your hair while the water slowly goes through the shower sink and rinse your hair when it is safe to do so. 7/ There was only one bedsheet. The other blankets smelled dusty & clearly hadn't been washed in a while. 8/ And last but not least. When I wanted to grab my suitcase in the morning a black scorpion crawled out of it. I jumped through the ceiling. I know the thing isn't deadly, but a sting would have hurt like crazy. I don't blame the host for there being a scorpion in the studio. We were on a fricking hill in the middle of nowhere after all, but at the same time it says a lot about this place. To think that we slept on the ground with that thing walking around... You might think I'm being dramatic here, but we travelled through Slovenia and Croatia for two weeks and everywhere we went we gave 10/10s and once an 8/10. The fact that we give such a low score is really saying something. We would have never booked this place if we had known that we booked a small studio with a bunk bed. I mean, look at the pictures of the other rooms. They look amazing and I do believe these rooms deserve the high ratings they are receiving. This room however isn't on that level. The host will probably respond and will try to turn things in her favor, but on the phone she told us we weren't the first ones to complain about this room, we weren't the first ones to think they booked another, better room and the mother even told us another family had refused this room, so they gave them a better one.

A fabulous, big apartment near the coast that easily accommodated our family of 3 and a dog for NYE.

It's a very spacious, quiet, clean, nicely decorated apartment that exceeded our family's expectations. The host was very kind, sociable, and always available in case we needed anything.

I honestly can not think of anything negative... I could say that the weather wasn't all too great but that's nature's fault :)

It's a very spacious, quiet, clean, nicely decorated apartment that exceeded our family's expectations. The host was very kind, sociable, and always available in case we needed anything.
