About this apartment rental
'San Niccolò' is a small romantic apartment in a quiet position inside the ancient city walls, just less than ten minutes' walk along the banks of the river Arno to the Ponte Vecchio. It consists of the upper half of a two storey seventeenth century mews cottage, approached through an archway from a small and silent road: from the private street door, a staircase will lead you up to the living room with dining area and sofa bed, a small but well equipped kitchen, a large bedroom with double bed, separate spacious wardrobes and ensuite bathroom. From its strategic position on the left side of the Arno, 'San Niccolò' gives you the opportunity to be right in the heart of the city, close to its main museums and monuments, but also to take pleasant walks through the secret paths that climb the surrounding hills up to Piazzale Michelangelo and to enjoy the characteristic atmosphere of the area with its medieval streets, its small shops, open air restaurants, trattorie and cafés.

We spent nearly the entire month of May here. Oltrarno is a great place to stay- close to everything, but a little less frantic. This apartment was perfect for my husband and me. It was cozy, fully furnished, with all the cooking implements we could need. There is a gas stove, small fridge, juicer, electric kettle, and espresso pots.There is heat and a/c (we used both in May), powerful wifi, cable. We were able to watch downloaded (and streamed) YouTube, Prime and Netflix from our home account using a USB-C to HDMI cord from my phone to the TV. Bring one, or purchase at a Euronics store here.The washer works great. (Use the longer cycles for better spinning to help the clothes dry faster). There is a rack for drying, and we put shirts on hangers and hung them in open windows or from the window box. (You'll feel right at home. When in Italy...)There are numerous bars and restaurants close to the apartment. We got groceries from stores past Santa Croce (10 minute walk), and just before Ponte Vecchio (15 minute walk). Stop for a gelato (our fave was Strega Nocciolo, but there are several others close to home- no one has bad gelato.)Chiesa San Niccolo is right behind the apartment. Mass is at 11 on Sunday.Francesca had fantastic communication with us. She made sure we always had access to help if we needed it.We couldn't have been happier, and we have some wonderful memories.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The apartment itself was cozy, comfortable and it is in a great location. The area was quiet but provided easy access to all of Florence’s attractions. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample storage. The kitchen is small but well stocked. Francesca met us for check in and she was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
