Hotel Weyanoke

Nice room. Great location. Receptionist very helpful as we checked out (printing some stuff) All staff friendly. Sitting out on the veranda having coffee in the sunshine.

Breakfast tidied away whilst we were still eating even though only 0930.

I was historic with a modern touch.

Great location across from Longwood University and easy walk to downtown. Rooftop bar was a nice option for a drink at sunset. Friendly staff, especially the young woman working in the breakfast room.

The room was very dusty - like no one had ever dusted it. Bedside lamps didn't work. The toiletries were hung upside down - impossible to get anything out of them. Finding an ice machine was quite a challenge - no signage anywhere. The light/fan in the shower was extremely loud and high-pitched. Elevator and halls were hot. Parking lot was below the hotel with lots of stairs to get up to the lobby with a bag. The food at the rooftop bar was not fresh. First impression: very few people were staying on a weekday, however I was still told my room was not ready at 3pm. The check-in time is 4pm - too late in my opinion with a check-out at 11.

It was close to longwood.

There was a lot of things that were not working correctly and had to be fixed.
