A beautiful stunningly furnished hotel, beach club and spa with wide selection of delicious foods. Would absolutely recommend to pairs who want to travel to an exotic relaxing spot, enjoy the sea/pool, and stuff their belly every day :)
We were warned about the black flies, although we haven't experienced any problems with any insects at all, as the hotel staff used citronella daily and the bed in our room could be covered with a veil. Perhaps we were there in a "bug-free" season - who knows.
The only thing that keeps me from giving this a 10/10 is the absence of a concierge, which would help foreign tourists help with booking trips around the island and the sea.
The majority of the staff also didn't really speak English, so if you can't speak Portuguese like us - prepare to use a translation tool.

Fantastic outside space, pool, beach and gym
Grumpy, unwelcoming staff. No welcome, just told where our room was. No hotel introduction so we had no idea of the restaurants or the facilities.
The worst bands you have to wear are like a day release tag from court.
Zero windows in the room made it feel claustrophobic
