Quite simply: this is the best hotel in Sri Lanka that we stayed in. If you are considering it, book it, as the pictures dont do a full service to the place which is amazing. The stay was perfect and serene like in no other place on the island, fulfilling the idea of "holidays in paradise". The beach house offers tranquility and privacy like no other - it only accommodates four parties (two in rooms and two in separate "huts" or houses - ask for the latter if you can). That means that for the breathtaking ocean views and lovely pool you will be most likely alone. Still, it offers full luxurious service and the staff staying on property (butler, cook and several gardeners) are skilled in giving you top-notch service in privacy (the butler gave us his whatsapp number to be available anytime). Eg. the showers in our "house" were lovely (it had view of the top of the 30+ palms) - I know people who had to pay much more for similar Maldives experience. To stress: the are no trade-offs related to the serenity. If you crave wider bar or restaurant selection, you can walk on the beach for 3 mins to the adjacent Jetwing hotel (guests in beach house are allowed to use their pool and restaurant). We have done it for most of the lunches, as our kids loved the other pool (it has bar inside). If you want bigger scene, Arugam Bay is only 15 mins of tuk-tuk drive away (we have done it each evening, we are no hermits ourselves despite loving the Beach house). And, finally, if you want surf lessons, these are happening on the beach in front of the other neighboring hotel (3 min beach walk in the other direction) - either ask them in the water or at the other place reception. Who is this place NOT designed for? -Pro surfers: the Jetwing point is only for beginners and / or intermediary surfers. Too much hassle to travel 4x daily to Arugam point for your waves. -Stag / hen parties: not enough socializing for you here.

Who is this place NOT designed for? (contnd) -Anybody whose view of luxury has been formed by chain hotels. I have seen a review below complaining about the sound of the ocean. Didnt disturb me at all (ventilators and / or AC running), but, well, it is a beach house located on the beach of an actual ocean. It is not a double glazed window of your Interconti intercity tower. The showers - lovely walled in enclosure with small garden attaching to bathroom (dont know how to describe it better) - had been regularly visited by geckos and I have seen few droppings there. Well you are in a house within a large tropical garden where crows crow (and fly) and geckos (and once also a tiny frog) visit. The property seems to take care of two dogs - one took to liking us and spent the breakfasts lying 2 meters next to us. In short: if actual ocean, tropical garden and animals bother your sense of luxury, do give this a pass.

とてつもない雷雨で、シャワー室が雨漏りしてました。 でも、大型バケツをひっくり返したような雨だったので、致し方ないかなと思います。 それ以上に静かさとアットホームな雰囲気が優ってました。

Staff super et service impeccable. Bel emplacement en bord de mer, spot idéal de surf. Par contre baignade peu ou pas possible.

Une partie des équipements est vétuste, dont parasols (en plus d être sales), douche extérieure en mauvais état. De plus eau de la piscine douteuse (eau trouble).... Décoration en général pour rendre établissement agréable est inexistante.
